Great product...easy install
Install was really easy. The size is great for taller shampoo bottles. The only thing I would recommend is before installing the tile you need to of coarse, clean it really good and wipe it down with alcohol first but also scratch the surface of the nitche with your thinset and let it dry. This will give the the tile a better surface to adhere too. The small and larger box are not connected. This gives you different options on your install of the layout. I will also say that if you are usind the "1/2" hardy board from the big box store it is not actually 1/2". You will need to make up for this around the lip or edge of the box with some thinset or something. If you do not do this you will have problems once you start installing your tile around it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this product. 👍

These are so easy to install
These are so easy to install. a 2x4 fits perfectly above, in the middle, and below these niches. I have built many niches onsite, but decided to purchase these to reduce the amount of leak points. The shelves have taper so no need to back butter your tile to ensure sufficient fall. I installed 2 of them in about 10 minutes and the are ready for tile whenever you finally are! I decided to install these with the small shelf at the bottom. These are very sturdy, and the countersunk holes made screw installation painless. I did take a tile stone and rub off the seam ridges from the manufacturing process, but that was no big deal and I think I would have been fine without going that far. It still took 10 minutes tops. Well worth the money!

Great niche, looks good and is heavy duty!
This is a great niche. I had a hard time putting it in because my house is old so it has thicker studs. I needed to shave of the interior of two studs by about 1/8 inch to get it in. This will NOT flex to accommodate a hole that isn't the right size. It is very thick plastic. If I was to do it over again I would first put in the niche and then lay the backer board around it, since you can tape around the niche. Overall this is a great niche and looks nice (see pic). I used the special epoxy to place my tiles and I think it was worth it... they are NEVER going to come off. I'd buy it again.

the plastic is pretty thick and you need to plan for that when ...
Worked out ok. With my tile job I had to do some careful planning to avoid small cuts, but worked out. I added 1/2 inch cement board to the vertical side to make my mosaic sheet fit without too much fuss. Also as noted, the plastic is pretty thick and you need to plan for that when installing. Overall, easier than creating your own niche. I scuffed the interior with 60 grit and cleaned with alcohol just in case there was mold release or anything on the surface that might prevent the thinset from sticking. We liked the black tiles, still got to grout.looking at some other reviews I thought of something else. I used Hardy backer tile board for my substrate and its not 1/2" thick. something like .4" So when you run the board up to the niche edge, there is a bit of a 'bump'. Not a really big deal but I sort of thickened the thinset tapering it to the created lip so there was not a big angle right at the niche. I tapered the thinset back about 5-6 inches so the taper is not really noticeable. As another reviewer noted the '2 holer' takes a lot of miters and so forth. The tile finish we liked in glass black were available only in smaller sizes and it took me 36 cut pieces to get what I wanted for coverage. Bottom line it that is does look pretty good and the double box look is slick looking. If I were to do another, I might think longer about how to put accent tiles with and around it. You can make a good looking addition that is practical in your shower.

Niche advice
These work great. A few things to remember.1. They could be arranged any way you like. You get 2 separate pieces. 1 with the little niche attached and 1 without. They are complete independent. For example when I went to buy this i wanted small niche at the bottom but it was out of stock so I bought the one pictures here knowing they were separate and I could just switch them to be the way I wanted2. Scuff them up a bit with sand paper to make thinset adhere better. I'm sure it would work eithout but felt better doing this. Reviews on here that sat it doesn't stick with regular thinset are off. They are either using the wrong type or have it mixed too thin. Nice smooth peanut butter that holds it's shape works well.3. Make sure you put blocking in all around- top bottom and middle. And make sure you caulk all seams and screws.4. Make sure you have a good plan for trimmingnoiut the edge. Some sort of pencil tiles woeks best but those arent cheap and add to the cost here. These are great. Would definitely buy again

Not perfect, but the value on 2 of them made it worth the cost
I bought these for a DIY shower install. The only drawback was that they seem very flexible. A full framed install along with some adhesive to grab the drywall on the backside still didn’t not stop the interior movement. I used the most flexible thinset I could find and have not had any issues yet. I’ll update this review if I do have issues. The framing was easy, and the boxes are already angled to allow for proper water flow. After looking online, I felt like I might have been able to create my own niche along with the membrane that I used and just basic framing and hardiboard, but these made it easier and I the sizing ended up being perfect for our larger shampoo and soap bottles.

Fantastic!
I ordered these because I had seen how easily they install compared to other prefab niches. I expected them to be normal, semi-flexible plastic and thought the price was a bit high, but I was willing to pay a little more for the ease of installation. When I received them and opened the box, I was greatly surprised. These things are built like a tank! They are very sturdy, not pliable and more than exceeded my expectations. They mount very easily and have you ready to tile in no time. They are definitely worth the asking price. I highly recommend them to any do-it-yourselfer or professional who wants to make making a shower niche easier to accomplish.
