Failed shortly after receiving
Failed quickly. Lesser models of this companies router products have all failed unexpectedly. I recommend avoiding their products. One sacing grace - they replaced each of the failed products with new so I was able to sell them off without taking a loss.

works great. Easy to set up
works great. Easy to set up. Nice to have both the 2.4 and 5 gigahertz settings. Have had no issues and I've been using it for about 6 months.

Call the cops!
I was robbed!EnGenius really makes this thing look good on paper but it fails to execute on so many levels. I purchased the EAP900H along with this ESR900, both products are a joke. I knew the EAP900H was a new product so I held out for a firmware update. 8 months later no update has materialized for either device. The most frustrating part of both devices is the constant disconnects. The ESR900 disconnects every 10 minutes and needs to be rebooted several times a day. The EAP900H is even worse. You have to disable/re-enable Wi-Fi in order to connect. A few minutes after connecting, traffic no longer passes. I have used at least 8 different Wi--Fi cards/dongles, all with the same results. Most of the advanced features they advertise don't work....at least not the way the you would expect based on published standards. Luckily I kept my old Linksys which ironically the same range as these "extended" range devices. Their forums are obviously censored making them useless. I feel like I was taken but I'll never give them the opportunity to do so again. Avoid these marketing geniuses and stick with the names you know.

Inflexible, too dumbed-down
If all you need is a short-range wifi device to plug in and go, and no other equipment on the network, this might work for you.The range can't be anything special, because I was sitting within 10 feet away and it gave something like a 30% power signal. My intention was to set it up as an access point on an existing network, and use an existing DHCP server - but the device just doesn't have the flexibility to be set up like that. The documentation you are given does not explain anything, and you have to go to the vendor's web site just to get the user manual. The manual is fine, but mostly useless, since the software is too limited to do much configuration with. The wi-fi has to have its own internal DHCP server turned on for devices to connect, and seems to be no practical way to configure it to extend an existing network with a different brand of router, or on the same subnet. The configuration screen also would mysteriously not save after working through the initial configuration wizard, when I accessed it under Chrome. I noticed in the console, that the server was reporting 404 Not Found errors too. I'd guess they didn't do too good of a job of testing. After beating around the system for several hours, I finally determined that the built-in software is just too limited, and the configuration capabilities are too inflexible for my purposes. A factory reset and back in the package. I doubt I'd ever buy another EnGenius product again.

Bought an ESR900 "Cloud" on sale for less than 50 and was pleasantly surprised by the performance and ease of setup. Mine arrived with the most recent firmware at the time. By wire the speed test from Comcast rated the connection at 125Mbps. By Wireless within 5 feet I was getting 80+ Mbps. 2 rooms away I got 50+ and in the worst dead spot (4 Rooms away) where my previous Netgear did not reach, I got 16-19 Mbps with this unit via Wireless G to my Lenovo laptop. The standard setup wizard is easily by-passed and manual settings are not any different than so many other devices of this type. The performance is right in line with others models of comparable List price at or near 100-140 USD. At the sale price I would say it was a bargain.

Not sure about other reviews...
I have installed tons of these devices for friends, family, and even some businesses with no issues. The one thing I would stress and what I believe is the downfall of other reviewers is that you should upgrade the firmware before you do much of anything else with it. With the latest firmware, the device works perfectly although I don't care for the pauses in between setting changes.

EnGenius ESR900
What a poor product. I spent 4 hours working on this with EnGenius. I still have the same product. It drops the signal and must be reset once a day...if you are lucky. I do applaud them for excellent marketing writing. I have had several Linksys and was sold a bill of goods with this.

No amplia redes existentes
Devuelto.
