ELITE Pre-Set 50w

OK this has worked well for me over the past year.but its dangerous as well,OK HEREs WHAT NOT TO DOwhen cleaning your tank, remember if you remove the heater to switch it offwhy, because there is no cut off fail safe so the heater runs away with its self, the plastic on the end melts and then, if you don't notice this and put it into your tank the heater shatters.....this is a WARNING TO YOU, I've just done it for the 2nd time, first time the plastic melted, this time a good year on, the plastic melted, but I didn't notice it until the loud CRACK OF THE GLASS this literally happened all within five minutes of taking it out of the water.I am now looking for a replacement, as the original last eighteen months, I would recommend this heater.but not seeing it does not have any fail safe mechanisma serious design fault

I chose this as the brand is reputable. The item was well packed , needed no setting in my 10gals malawi fri tank , 40 yrs of aquatics experience and I strongly believe cheap heaters are a mistake . Your fish either freeze or end up boiling if the thermostat fails to turn off.

Bought it a few months back to warm up a 60L turtle tank.It's working as expected, maintaining a steady temperature.

Purchased this heater a couple of months ago for my temperate fish tank set it at 22 but as there was worm weather it didn't come on it wasn't till 2 days ago when it came on and didn't shut off lucky I was in so when it got to 26 I turned it off before it killed the fish. I waited for it to cool and tryed it again same thing happened I have since read other reviews that have said it has cooked there fish as there's didn't shut off either so it is now in the bin what a waste of money. I can recommend the aqua one heater as this works well wish I chosen this first.
