Out of the box, the clamp was not opening. I thought that it is a defective piece. Actually, it needs to be forced to open more. Then the ratchet sets in. After some movements, the mechanism became ok. Blade is not effective on certain pvc pipes. Perhaps good for medium hardness pipes. Easier to work with thick wall pipes as thin wall pipes tend to collapse under pressure.
