Plug-Dri 18mm Dehydrator Engine Desiccant Spark Plug, Set of 8 (Plug Dri Aircraft)

The plastic caps are glued on and most of them came off during installation of plug to the engine. Also, the plastic threads are not cut right so you will only be able to barely thread the plug into the engine. I recut the threads with a die so that I could fully install the plugs.

These plugs should do a good job but 1 of the 8 was the wrong size thread. They sent 1 14mm. No idea how to replace just one.

Bought these for mid term storage of a Lycoming O-360 and they came in 2 days before leaving on an extended trip. Pulled all 8 plugs and started putting these in, and the first 2 went in fine. Then I opened another of the sealed foil packages each plug comes in and saw a 14 mm plug instead of the 18 mm plug I needed. All told, 4 of the 8 plugs were 14 mm instead of 18 mm, but all of them were in packages labelled 18 mm. I've already opened the sealed packs and the 4x18mm plugs are installed in the engine so I can't very well return them, but I would highly recommend steering well clear of this product based on a clear lack of quality control.

18mm plugs looked nice and fit well but I noticed, after installing 12 of them of course, that many of the tops were epoxied on incorrectly leaving gaps for air to enter. Of the 16 I ordered a full 8 of them were like this and therefore unusable. Fortunately a little silicon and electrical tape sealed them right up, but disappointed I had to do this and time will tell whether it really worked or not...

Bought these to pickle my aircraft engine for the winter. Seven of the plugs were OK. The top of the eighth plug was mis-aligned when it was glued and has allowed moist air to turn the desiccant pink from the top down.

These worked well for my Lycoming engine. I’d buy again.
