The Everything Understanding Islam Book: A complete guide to Muslim beliefs, practices, and culture Paperback – May 18, 2009

This is a really great book to learn about Islam with, it covers many things I would not have even thought about asking.I am not done with it yet, but so far, it is easy to understand and a good read.I dont know about you, but I am someone who wants to learn about something for myself instead of hearing about it from others who have perhaps been tainted with negativity because of all the bad press regarding Islam.So far, I am very pleased, and it has helped me see the beauty of Islam and what it really means to be a true Muslim, not the radical way of thinking you hear about in the news who give true Muslims a bad name.

There were a few things that I disagreed with, as a Muslim myself. But overall is a very good book for an introduction to Islam and Muslim culture (which is diverse!)I bought two, one for myself first, and one for a friend who was curious about Islam :)

I have a continued interest in Islam! This book goes into short detail (providing the most important details) about a lot of things. You have to keep in mind that like any religion, there are the good people and the bad people. Sorry to have burst your bubble if you didn't already know this. Well this goes for people all around the world in any religion. You have to keep this in mind when you read/hear about any terrorism or practically anything on the news. This book even provides references where you can learn more, or books that expand what is provided.

Good basic information

Was very good to be able to understand this religion. Puts it all in perspective. And it truly is not the religion that the media displays.

This was an interesting read. Quite repetitive and did not address any controversy. Dodge is a very good with the basic ideas behind Islam but the book lacked depth.

this is a good book, easy read. absolutely love this author and read a lot of her books. a must read.

Great book with explanations that make sense. Great for understanding and learning about the Islamic way of life.

I got this book for a friend interested in Islam after reading it myself first. It is a great book, really well written in a very interactive manner. Totally recommend it!
