This speedloader works great with my Ruger LCR 38spl. It is extremely lightweight and holds rounds snug until you release them. It is also convenient that the rounds are released with a quick twist to the left; it feels more natural. This is my first and only speed loader, but I would definitely by from this manufacturer again in the future for all my speed loading needs.

Tried 2 other brands and no go with the standard grips on the 642. This works great and is made well out of aluminum.

I own both revolvers and autos but I consider myself a revolver guy. They just work and they work all the time. I've never had a malfunction with a revolver so I rely on them to keep me and my family safe. That said, over the last forty years I have purchased a plethora of speed loaders from name brand companies that never seemed to satisfy me or give me the absolute confidence they'd work when I needed them. This item came up on a search that I made some time ago. Since these are expensive I only ordered one for a five shot 38 special I like to carry just to see if I liked it. This is the most amazing, easy to use, reliably made speed loader I have ever used. Expensive yes. But what's your life or the life of a loved one worth when the chips are down? I liked it so much that I purchased two for my S&W 329PD 44 magnum. Like any equipment you have to practice with them. There is more to know and do with a speed loader for a revolver than with simply throwing a new clip in the grips of an auto. But as I said, I prefer revolvers and am willing to spend the time needed to be proficient. If your like me, you'll be glad you purchased these. They're great.

Great fit for my S & W Mod 642. That the best for CCC but is a quick go to for in a vehicle.

Due to the way the 340pd is constructed, no speed loaders work as quickly as with larger framed guns, but I can confirm this one does work. There just isn’t enough room on the diminutive gun when the cylinder swings open for the speed loader to have easy clearance, but this one just fits - just barely. The aluminum construction allows for a much thinner design, so I think this product is probably the best made for the 340pd. Other plastic ones may also work, but they would not have enough clearance to go all the way straight in because the shell holder walls would have to be thicker if made of plastic.
