Safety tilt switch
Loved it straight out of the box and heated a bluegrass pickin jam area for about 4 hours. BUT the next day it would NOT LIGHT. We tried numerous things to light the heater but to no avail. I pondered tge subject later and deter that a tilt safty switch must have activated due to the heater and 30lb gas bottle being move at our RV site. Later I attached it to my gas bottle and held it in vertical upright position while lifting and firmly setting the gas bottle on the ground. Apparently, this reset a tilt switch that is located on the heater near the thermocouple. The heater continues to light and work well .

BEST HEATER PERIOD!
I've used many propane heaters in my time and this little guy packs a punch! I've had mine for about 3 years now and I use this in my garage. This thing burns propane very well. I also bought a natural gas/propane meter to make sure the level doesnt get dangerous inside when all doors are closed. Out of all the times I've ever used it my my life it only ever got past the safe limit one time after it being on for more than 3 hours. LIke I said it burns the propane pretty well. I know they don't recommend using it inside where there is no ventilation but as long as you have a working meter you should be fine. Also another thing that helps is I usually only have it on for about 20-30 minutes because this thing heats up the garage very quickly! Then I let it cool down a bit and to help disperse propane for safer use inside for about 20-25 minutes. Another thing that I keep seeing people complain about is a safety mechanism on it. basically there is this red button you have to push down while you are lighting it. The thing is you have to keep holding the button down and not let it go or else it will shut off. You usually have to hold it down for about 20-30 seconds before you can let it go. I don't mind it honestly.

This works quite well
First of all, setup is a snap. I may get a larger tank for for now I'm using a 20# tank from the grill. I set the tank inside a milk crate and set that on a small 4-wheel dolly. It was stable and moveable. So here is the report on the heater performance. After all my errands were complete I closed the garage door and installed a cheap thermometer. After 20 minutes the temperature was 24*F and I turned on the heater and set it to high. After 30 minutes it was 40*F, time to go to work. About an hour later I noticed the temperature was 50*F so I set the heater to low, it has a medium but I skipped that. An hour later it was a balmy 54*F so I turned it off. 30 minutes later I called it quits and it was 53*F. Meanwhile the outside temperature was 16*F when I lit the heater and is now only 18.5*F. The CO detector went all the way up to zero Now I know it uses oxygen but I never felt light headed or unfocused and there is that big gap between the uneven floor and the garage door. So I'm happy.

called a "tank top heater" because you will soon be working in one
I just got in from using this heater for 4 hours and it works far better than I expected. I am heating a space about 35 feet long and 9 feet wide with 8 foot ceilings and is far from insulated. The space is made out of a few rolls of 4mm plastic stapled up to stacks of wood and holds the heat in just great. I initially thought I would buy a salamander propane blower style heater to get things up to a reasonable temp and then use something like this, which makes very little noise, for most the day and just fire up the salamander when it got too cold again. Well, I am really glad I bought this one first because I now know I won't be needing the noisy salamander after all.It was 20 degrees outside today here in Vermont and after running this on high for about 5 or 10 minutes my space was in the 60's. I then turned it down to low and finished out the day in a tee shirt. Also, I had the plastic tarp propped open a foot or so at the door for ventilation and it kept heating the space just fine (on low) with cold winter air blowing in. Just incredible. I am going to take very good care of it and bring in the house each day when I am done just to help reliability. Also, I accidentally knocked over two sawhorses and they hit the heater and it immediately shut off proving the built in safety feature works quite well.I never write reviews on amazon but just had to after stressing out about which heater to buy for about a month now. This was the first day so I will try and report back after some time to let you know how she does in the long run.

Doesn’t work
Came to me broken. Some customers said the same. There is a way to “jimmy” it, but that shouldn’t be required from a new product.
