Great Toy for hard chewers
This is my dog's favorite toy and I got it for his birthday. It keeps him happy for quite awhile and lasts him awhile as well. He destroys all but hard rubber toys in minutes. This toy is hard to find as I think Kyien has discontinued it. I appreciate the vendors prompt service and "Sammie" appreciated it as well!

A go-to toy for my tough chewer.
I have been using the Seamster products for a little over two years - my Ridgeback/Boxer dog is now three and a MAJOR chewer. Although she has gone through several of the footballs and the large green bones this is still one of my go-to chew toys for her and I buy the rawhide refills regularly. She has figured out how to chew the rawhide off pretty quickly to get to the kibble inside and so I take away the actual toy as soon as she is done so she doesn't chew away the slots on the toy. There are 4 refills per package, and right now I am using the rubber football which takes one refill. What you do is soak the rawhide in water until it is malleable, put kibble or treats inside the two halves of the toy and lace it together with the rawhide strips. Then you let it dry (usually overnight.) The toy has small holes in both sides so the dog can smell the kibble inside and will chew off the rawhide to get to it. My dog has it sown to a science now so the treat only lasts about ten minutes, but that is the same ten minutes it takes her to eat a squeaky squirrel or Chuck-it orange-and-blue ball that are technically not edible and expensive to replace. Eventually the tab slots will get chewed to the point you have to replace the toy.PROS: Toy is reuseable (up to a point.) Rubber is non-toxic. Doubles as a food dispenser. Refills relatively inexpensive. Rawhide strips are thin and don't cause digestive issues.CONS: Requires advance preparation. Toy will eventually get chewed up and require replacing.

to get better coverage and they STILL did not cover from start ...
These are too short to cover the rubber bone - and too hard to work with as well. I cut the strips in half, lengthwise, to get better coverage and they STILL did not cover from start to finish. They need to be about 2 1/2 times longer than they are :(

I don't recommend it. Dog chocked and coughed while chewing on it.
I always supervise my dogs when they play with this kind of stuff, and I'm glad that's the case. My dog kept choking and coughing while chewing on this toy. I eventually removed it from him and tossed it. I don't recommend it but since it might have been a bad batch or just my dog's aggressive chewing, I'm giving it a 2 star. Buy it a your own risk and please, do supervise your dog as they recommend it.

Perfect refills for toy!
These are easy to soak and then re-thread into the toy for my dogs pleasure! She loves it and it lasts a long time and keeps her occupied for hours - huge plus since she is an avid chewer!! Now she stays out of trouble! Thanks for the fast shipping!

I have a heeler, she thinks this toy is okay....
I like the concept behind these chew toys, we are always looking for something to stimulate our 10 year old heeler mix to keep her busy and happy. This toy doesn't thrill her, but she does get a little chew time out of it. The rawhide strips are very thin, and threading them isn't very difficult at all, just replace the rawhide as soon as your dog finishes, since the strips must be soaked in warm water, and then allowed to sit and harden after threading through the toy. I have to coat the strips in bbq sauce to get my dog's interest up, and once she starts chewing, the toy lasts maybe 10-20 minutes before she has un-threaded and chewed the rawhide completely up. Typically, it just gets abandoned after this, and there isn't anymore interest after the rawhide is chewed. Perhaps a smaller dog that isn't such a powerful chewer would get more out of this toy, and of course, all dogs are different. In summary, this is an okay chew toy for a smaller dog, but will not last very long or hold much interest for more powerful/tenacious chewers.

Awesome! Allows the reuse of the rubber blue base
Awesome! Allows the reuse of the rubber blue base. Dog loves this toy but she's become too good at getting the rawhide out so it's a quick game now. Note that if you soak the rawhide for a bit longer to get it more pliable it will be more translucent and weaker after it dries. So follow the recommended ~4 minutes or only a bit longer.

Yeah she eats thru the rawhide in like 10 minutes
My dog loves these bones! I now buy 2 at a time in case we lose one! Yeah she eats thru the rawhide in like 10 minutes, but then she will chew on the actual bone for weeks. We have to search the house every night so she can take it to bed with her!

my puppy is not destructive with toys, but in chewing the raw hide stitching she broke through the plastic on this toy. Not durable at all, we have owned it 4 days

Great toy
My dog loves this toy it kept him amused for ages trying to get inside, but where do I buy more rawhide strips long enough to thread round the ball as it's now sat useless until I can find some

Brilliant
I was worried this was going to be too small for my lurcher dog but no it's a good size for her and should keep her busy when I'm at work, and looks to be good quality. It's estimated delivery date was to be after Christmas as I ordered it too late, but it did come a few days before Christmas, thank you.
