THOR VOL. 1: GOD OF THUNDER REBORN

It's as if he had bullet points to hit but no time to really explore them.
I have followed Aaron's run since Godbomb and this was looking to be a nice action packed return for the Odinson. It is and it's not.Aaron had such amazing idea's in his early Thor run and there's even hints of it here, but the main complaint I have is the pacing. What he fits into Three issues could have been a whole six issue arc. I wanted so badly for it to breathe because SO MUCH happens. It's as if he had bullet points to hit but no time to really explore them. The last two? maybe three issues? deal with Old King Thor which is usually a highlight but somehow he manages to write the actions that happen instead of giving his artist breathing room to create something absolutely cosmic. In the end it's about as good as The Mighty Thor so...eh.

Epic myth-making, if you go in for that sort of thing
I can't say I was a fan of the art here, which you can see for yourself in the preview. Ironically, I found it more effective when stationary than in action, when it was too frenetic and abstract for my taste. The story was... well, it was intriguing and fully engaged with the idea of gods and mythos. For me, well, it was a bit too godly... to cut off from everyday concerns. The story ranged from control of Hel and the lands of the dead to the end of time itself. I recognize and admire the creativity there, but honestly, it all seemed a little... bloodless and abstract to me.I can imagine some people really enjoying this run; but I am not likely to continue it.

Confusing artwork jars you out of the story.
The artwork is so bad, frenetic and confusing that I found myself skipping over the story through most of the book. I kinda liked the idea behind Wolvie connecting with the Phoenix Force idea, but the artwork throughout the entire book just ruined it all for me.

Better than expected
Jason Aaron's multiple realms and time lines does pick-up some of the madness of the Walter Simonson era of Thor. While some of cosmic heroes and villains are a bit much in terms of Marvel fan service, this is still a lot of fun. The art is enjoyable as well.

Very odd.
The headline is really all there is to say. The back-up feature of Grandpa Thor made more sense, but was equally strange by virtue of it's existence.

The Odinson in Hel
The War of Realms has come to Niffleheim and the Odinsons reunite to fight the fire goblins of Muspelheim. Jason Aaron's writing is solid as normal, and Del Mundo's art grew on me. Christian Ward drew the backup feature which is quite good, featuring All-Father Thor and Old Man Phoenix. This story is good, but it requires the backstory of the entirety of the Aaron run of Thor. Collects Issues: 1-6.

❤️❤️
A bit confusing for people like me who hasn't read 2012s Thor until now,but still solid and the art is amazing

Looks like a GCSE student did the art...?
I’ve got no issues with the story here (although, my heart does sink slightly when Loki appears back on the scene *again*)...However, there’s a strange thing that can happen when a comic’s art style drops below a certain threshold when reading a comic, I suddenly find my enthusiasm and suspension of disbelief grind to a halt as I look down at the pages and realise that - given a quality pack of crayons - I could probably draw and colour my own artwork to the same standard as this particular book...It’s hard to imagine why the art director of this new Thor run (a) chose this art style, and (b) looked at the images and actually said “oh yes! that’s excellent work!! print it at once!!”The previous Thor “God of Thunder” series was incredibly delicately sketched and inked, with all the art looking magnificent - so it’s a real struggle to push-on through this volume with the same kind of excitement...

Very poor
Terrible graphics and a poor story make this a very poor entry into my favourite Marvel character - unfortunately avoid it
