Leaves no spot of ignorance uncovered!!
English is not my son's forte though somehow he appears to come either top or near the top in comprehension every time. He has some issues relating to dyslexia and when actually asked for an opinion about the piece struggles. He is a young (9) year 5 and he is finding the comprehension passages difficult. They are meant to be year 3 (I chose this level as I thought he would gain confidence if he did well) but I would say they are aimed at a high achieving year 3. He is still persevering though because the questions are very varied and he does well in the non comprehension exercises. I would recommend this book as if we get to the end I feel he will have learned a lot.

Bond English Assessment Papers 7-8 years
The range of Bond workbooks and test papers are essential for any parent who are considering preparing their child for the 11+, or who just want their child to succeed at school. Bond have workbook and assessment papers in English and Maths, plus test papers in Non-Verbal and Verbal Reasoning for ages 5+. This is the third English test paper book, for 7-8 years (Year 3). There are twenty test papers, a pull out answer book, plus a progress chart and the tests all include a good mix/range of questions. Each test begins with a comprehension, plus mixed questions in grammar, punctuation, etc. One paper a week throughout the term, alternating between English and Maths, will certainly give them a little extra homework practice. However, if you haven't used these books before, then do complete the "No Nonsense English" workbook in this age range before trying out the tests. These books also contain the address for the Bond website, which is packed with advice and suggestions for any parent considering either the 11+ or who want to help their child at school. It is worth noting that as well as books aimed at children who are very bright, there is an extremely useful series of ‘Up to Speed’ workbooks, for those children who need a little extra help in any particular area.

Great book. Good for checking child's progress and pushing their knowledge boundaries.
I use these books with my son so give him some extra practice with English.By working through the book it gives me a good idea of where he needs help, and the areas he struggles with. He has realised that the answers are in the middle of the book, but they are easy enough to pull out and keep aside. There is a key word glossary, so parents can check what is being asked (I had to look up the meaning of synonym!!, but the definition is clear in the book-it's a long time since I went to school!).I really like these books as they are clear and well laid out.

Book was used properly.
I didn't know what to expect as I was told the book was used but it came well used and just the first few questions needed to be clean so it was a good buy

Bond assessment English 7-8
The best start in life is education and this does not get any better in preparing the kids for testing. Improving their ability to read and understand instructions outside of school. Necessary as a precursor to grammer school. Highly recommended.

Very Useful
I bought this book for son to get an idea of how the 11+ exam would be. Since he is pretty much completing all the papers, I am planning to buy the next level.
