Words to Live By: A Guide for the Merely Christian

Even though I'd already read much of Lewis's Christian writings, this book still proved a page-turner all the way through for me, as it collects excerpts from Lewis's various Christian writings (both nonfiction and fiction) and presents them according to topic. It is so good that I was tempted to keep it for myself when I bought a copy for my sister's birthday!

I am pretty sure I am not smart enough to read C.S. Lewis but this book, which I love because his thought provoking statements and ideas come in small doses, has affected how I think about God, about the difference between excusing and forgiving and about living my life in regards to others in a more circumspect way. I highly recommend it.

This is a good and collection of many of C.S. Lewis's great lines. I have owned a copy for years and bought this for a young friend who is eager to find a practical and thoughtful guide to the essentials of the Christian Faith. I am grateful for the Kindle edition as well as the well-finished hardcover edition.

I bought this book after having checked it out at the library! It is a great book to read a few pages and then contemplate the message that Lewis was trying to convey. My son recommended his books to me and I am so glad to have found this compilation! It would be a great present for a loved one!

Along with Chesterton, it is a very pleasurable time spent reading C. S. Lewis. His writing is so clear and well thought out and his insights are really good, it is an experience to just soak up the thoughts and ideas expressed.

This is a collection of his opinions on a number of different topics A-Z. You don't have to be a Christian to benefit from his wisdom. He lived a very full and accomplished life.

I started reading it at the Carmel -Clay Public Library and knew that it would take a lot of re-reading to absorb all of the deep thoughts contained within. So I decided to buy my own copy. What I've read so far is exquisite and then the temperatures dropped, power went off for 4 days and pipes burst..I need some encouragement at the moment.Delivery was quick, book in excellent condition, couldn't be happier with my purchase!Gratefully, Colette Pearcy

Good Christian book. Gain insight into Christian living. One of Lewis's well known works that is profitable for all to read.

I love C S Lewis' works and I have used this on a retreat day and have it close to hand most of the time.
