Love it
Quality product that works well. Sun rise and set can be adjusted to suit the specific fish kept.RWB balance is infinitely adjustable. There is a feature where specific weather conditions can be replicated randomly or at specific times but I found the lightning effect just seemed to scare the fish so haven’t used it after the initial demo of the product.Would highly recommend this product, much better than the old fluorescent tube I had before which sent the fish crazy as it flash3d into life.

Adjust your lighting to exactly how you need it
Bought this as a replacement for my previous Aquasky (not bluetooth) which lasted for a long while. It kept the red light on when manually switching off the light.I was a little anxious about setting it up but it is actually fairly straightforward -The main page in the app is the same as the old remote control.I am so happy that I no longer have to use my add-on Fluval timer as sunrise and sunset can be programmed in the app. I especially like the ability to set the length of time for sunrise, sunset and moonlight. I have set 40 minutes for sunrise and 30 minutes for sunset, then 1 hour of moonlight before fishy sleepy time. The RGB & white levels can be adjusted in increments of 1% each so thousands if not millions of light combinations! Takes a little tinkering to get the right settings but not complicated.I definitely use this as I find the presets are too bright, my scaly kids would go blind at feeding time.If you want to program effects (lightning, cloud etc) into your daytime settings you can but be aware they are at the standard presets and brightness can't be adjusted so if like me you have lower lighting the tank will actually get lighter for these - it is not in sync with your settings, so I find this defeating as it shouldn't get lighter to become cloudier! (Maybe for Fluval to include in future?).Now I can have the exact light settings I need not rough estimates. I have created 3 main settings - standard, cloudy and brighter for when I'm cleaning the tank. Also no need for a timer and no more extra cables and wires/sensors.For reassurance the light works in accordance with the last setting so if you go out it will follow what you programmed it to do - don't worry it will not stay on/off until your bluetooth is in range.

Unreliable
This worked fine for 2 months then stopped working...it was fitted to a fluval tank which has the purpose built recess in the top..this is the second one I have had and both have gone the same way..definitely not worth the outlay as I have found them unreliable.. I have refitted the original lamp that came with the tank and that is still going strong after 3 years...The lamp never got wet apart from occasional condensation so presuming that aren't sealed properly...

Completely transformed my tank
I bought this to replace the integrated dual T5 unit that came supplied with Juwel Rio 240 tank, purchased around 2013. I was sick of paying £60 per 9 months for new T5 tubes, in fact I stopped so my tubes were old and algae outbreaks were frequent. I simply stopped turning my lights on at all.Having looked at the Juwel Helialux LED light and seperate controller, I was looking at £350+At less than £120, this was well worth a go..And what a transformation!Setup was extremely easy. In terms of installing, the light can simply clip on to the top sides of the tank, ideal if you have an open aquarium. Secondly, it comes with clips to directly clip into a T5 or T8 fitting, and finally, it can be mounted to suction clips. Personally, I removed the suction cups and used aquarium silicon to stick it in position.Setup on your smartphone was very quick and the user interface is very friendly. I'm simply using the auto setting which runs the lights right through a sunrise, day, sunset and night programme, with user adjustment to times and colour spectrum etc.I'd highly recommend this light to anyone who is sick of buying disposable tubes, shocking their fish at lights on, and having no control over light spectrum.

My experience and analysis of Fluval Aquasky 2,0 21W
I bought this to upgrade an old Jewel Rio 125 and modified the tank cover so that the unit could sit on top of the tank using the adjustable slide out sides. The LED's are very easy to set up and control with the app. The major issue is the lack of back up when the power goes off. When power is restored the programme is lost and all is dark. This happened when I was out for a day but would have been a major problem if away on holiday for a week or two. To prevent this I purchased from Amazon an uninterruptible power supply: Cyberpower BR700ELCD-UK Line-Interactive UPS 700VA/420W. This gives at least 90 minutes power back up at 21 watts so will protect against the usual brief power loss we get here from time yo time. Some have criticized the light intensity and whilst it is not ultra bright it is as bright as I would want to illuminate my tank It also seems to grow my plants very quickly indeed - see attached photos.I would comment on the low intensity of the red, green and blue LED's. The ambient lighting has to be quite dark for these to show much effect in the tank and that was disappointing. With all LED's on, the unit draws slightly over 21 watts and gets pretty hot. I turn the red, green and blue LED's off and just use the white and this makes no perceivable difference to light intensity but does enable the unit to run at a more acceptable lower temperature. Measurements of the various LED configuration consumption attached.I would recommend this unit if you can live with weak RGB LED illumination and can afford approximately £80 to add the uninterruptible power supply - hence one star knocked off the rating. Ease of set up and control does make this a joy to use and you can drop this in the water without issues unlike some of the cheaper units available through Amazon!
