Vax Dual Power Max Carpet Cleaner and Ultra+ Carpet Solution Bundle

Finally recvd item after original was "mislaid" by courier. Used it to clean large cream/beige Axminster lounge carpet. Some heavy tread areas needed two goes to get dirt marks up but after 20 years of carpet wear, what can you expect? Parts of the carpet are fluffy again (altho not deep pile carpet) and it's like there's new underlay. Machine itself has quite powerful suction and carpet was completely dry within 2-3 hours even after I really soaked some areas. Not an easy machine to clean out and brushes needed clearing regularly during cleaning process. Water tanks didn't leak (as reported by previous users) but I did find that I was only able to clean small areas each time before water used up, say 4 sq metres, each area. One negative comment I will make is the cleaning fluid recommended by Vax. I ordered extra bottles just in case, as the carpet is large. I ended up using twice the amount recommended in each cleaning application because the carpet wasn't being sufficiently cleaned. I've done a seperate review for cleaning fluid as there were other isues with that also. I recommend you use the hottest tap water you can as this helps the cleaning efficacy., and air dry the machine thoroughly after use before storing. Overall, it does what it says and I'm pleased with the reults. .

So The vax carpet cleaner arrived yesterdayFirst impressions its quite a bit bigger than the Vax rapide that i have in the past and it does feel and look a little bit on the cheap side, assembly is very straight forward and takes a few minutes and then your ready to use,The first use it seems brilliant, now ive had a vax rapide and ive used a rug doctor this falls between the too but more towards the rug doctor, the vax rapide just dribbles water as you push it about, however this seems to actively spray the carpet and combined with the rollers really cleans very well, the clean tank i started with 3 litres of water and it sucked back up about 2 litres so its pretty good,This morning the carpet is dry and looks a lot cleaner, so despite the look and feel of the machine it works perfectly

Very pleased with this cleaner. Does a good job and leaves the carpet only slightly damp, completely dry in a couple of hours. Very easy to assemble and operate and not too noisy. The amount of grit an dirt it picks up is amazing. The dirty water tank has a clever float inside which cuts of the supply of cleaning water once the tank is full as it won't suck once the tank has reached capacity. A carpet that's almost 5 years old and heavily walked on is never going to look like new but this machine certainly freshens it up. Came complete with the upholstery cleaning attachment and hose which surprised me as this was advertised as an extra.

please be aware that the machine in the video IS NOT the machine you are buying,, you are buying the vax MAX not the VAX PRO. so you will not get the hard floor cleaner or the stair carpet cleaner, it does not have a wash and rinse button , but it is a good machine

Very pleased with this carpet cleaner. It was delivered rapidly and did not take long to unwrap and assemble. It was easy to fill both the top container with cleaner solution and to empty waste water from the bottom container. The rotating brushes cleaned efficiently although it was too much to hope that all stains were removed from the carpets. Also I found that when one of my dogs had an 'accident' indoors the cleaner sucked up the urine very quickly. A very good product!

I purchased this machine 18 months ago and have used it once. I have just got it out to use again ( 17 month after the 1st wash ) switched it on and the belt to the twin brushes broke. The information booklet states ( if the belt is broken please contact the Customer Care Line on 0330 026 8455). This I did and waited 12 mins. to get through only to be told that the belt can not be replaced and I would have to purchase a new machine at a discount price. As I could not show a receipt of purchase I was told they could not help me and that I would have to throw the machine away. All because of a thin peace of rubber.
