The Shade Works Great, Just Wish They Divulged Its Aspect Ratio!!!
I bought the Delkin 3.0"-M for my Leica D-LUX 3 and it didn't fit. The aspect ratio was not correct but I liked the shade so much I thought I'd give one a try for my little Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS. Its perfect for the Canon. It even fits on the camera when I put the little duo in its small black leather Lowepro case (Napoli 5) that is the size of a pack of cards, though the shade easily slides on and off if thats what you prefer. Overall I'm very pleased. I just wished they'd make one to fit the D-LUX 3 as well as publish the aspect ratio of the shade along with its three dimensions. It would have saved me $10.00.

No good for Canon HF20
Thought this would look cool on the Canon HF20 but you have to pull off a piece of protective tape to get to an adhesive strip that you then attach to the perimeter of your LCD screen on the camera. But once you attach it you cannot press the controls on the touch-pad and you cannot close the side LCD screen. You have to remove this piece of poorly engineered plastic and you have no way of protecting the adhesive strip anymore - exposing it to dust and whatever else wants to stick to it while you are not using it. Sorry I bought this. Will return it immediately.

Design flaw makes it almost usless.
I bought this item to shade my Olympus e-pl1 2.7" LCD display for outdoor use. I had trouble using seeing the screen in bright sunlight. This unit is good looking, nicely made and is easy to install. The shade part is easily removeable. it fit the camera well. This shade however has a BIG design flaw: this devise includes a non-removeable, clear protective window that is so reflective it acts like a mirror. I couldn't see the display in ANY light, only a reflection of my mug. My display was unusable. In addition, the clear window, is in my view, unnecessary, as the flip-up shade gives good protection to the LCD screen, whether folded up or down. With this device attached, the display was far less visible than without it. I decided to remove the window. Either that or throw the whole thing out. First I tried gentle means to no avail. So I removed the device from the camera, placed it over a hole in a workbench and rammed a screwdriver through center of the window. The resultant shards were then easy to remove. The adhesive, still worked so I could re-attach it to my camera. (it would be better to remove the window. before peeling off the protective adhesive film and attaching the device, but it was too late for me. After the surgery it works great and I am very happy with it.

Fits Panasonic DMC-FZ35 reasonably well.
This device will fit the FZ35 well. Width wise, it is just wide enough not to block the LCD. But just barely. A 1/32 inch wider might be better. Height wise, it is just a little small. I didn't measure it, but perhaps small by about 1/64 of an inch. I let it cover that little bit at the bottom of the LCD. No problem at all. I don't even notice it. Can't even notice it.The outer dimensions of the device are perhaps 1/16 inch smaller all around than the raised area of the LCD, so it fits well with a little room to spare. The LCD in my camera apparently is not quite centered in the raised area. It's off to the right just a little. Consequently, on my camera, the device fits all the way over to the right edge of the raised area, with no room to spare. On the left side there is almost 1/8 inch of the raised area still showing. On my camera I mounted the device as high as it would go. Right up under the viewfinder, touching the viewfinder. This was necessary so that the device did not block any portion of the LCD at the top. Touching the viewfinder does not interfere with the viewfinder or the device. It is possible that the Delkin Devices pop-up shade made for a 3.0 inch LCD would fit better. Giving a little more room around the LCD. But, I don't know this. There is one fairly important drawback to this pop-up shade. If you use the LCD to take pictures, normally the camera is held a little below eye level. In this case, with the top of the pop-up shade sticking out, it blocks your view of the top of the LCD. You would have to hold the camera slightly above eye level in order to look under the top of the shade and see all of the LCD. This is not comfortable. If necessary, the top half of the device slides to the left and can be removed completely. Leaving only the bottom portion of the frame that is stuck to the camera, and not blocking your view of the LCD.Currently, for my use of the camera, I don't use the LCD to take pictures. I use the viewfinder. I only use the LCD to look at the menu or to review the pictures that I have taken. In this case, I can hold the camera at any angle I want and the shade does not interfere at all. My purpose for the shade is protection of the LCD. I can not speak to the value of this device as a 'shade' for the LCD as I have only just received it and I do not use it in that way.To mount the device on the FZ35:First, do not yet remove the tape on the adhesive, or the plastic film that protects the back of the clear plastic shield of the device.Turn the camera on, zoom it to about 2X, and point it at something light and bright in color. This should illuminate the entire LCD so you can see exactly where it is.Put the device over the LCD and look carefully to see exactly where you want to position it.Practice moving it into that position without touching the LCD. Also practice putting into position straight. It is easy to get the thing cockeyed, so practice doing it straight.Once you think you can do it right, clean the LCD absolutely clean. Remove the plastic film covering the back of the clear plastic view screen. I scratched at it gently with my fingernail until I could get a corner of it loose and pulled it off slowly. Do not remove the tape on the adhesive yet.Practice a couple more times putting the device in place and straight.Remove the tape on the adhesive and position the device without touching the camera. When it is in place, gently set it down and adhere it to the camera. Press down all around the edges to make it adhere well. Let it sit for five minutes without messing with it. Some adhesives work best that way.You are finished.Note 1:On the device that I put on my camera there is the word 'Open' and an arrow pointing to the right. As though you are to slide the top portion of the device to the right in order to remove it. This is backwards. You slide the top portion to the left in order to remove it.Note 2:If you have trouble using the viewfinder because your nose presses against the back of the camera, this device will increase the problem. There, I'm done.

Just what we needed...I thought
We purchased one for each of our digital cameras, since the screens are very hard to see in the sunlight. The shades work fine...but I did remove the clear plastic that others have mentioned causes an irritating glare. I 'scored' and cut through the plastic with a box cutter and used pliers to remove the broken plastic. Installation on the cameras was a snap, but be sure you get it positioned right the first time...You only get one chance to do it right.UPDATE: The shade is removable from the glued-on frame...too removable. It fell off my wife's camera somewhere...never to be seen again. I got tired of putting it back on mine and decided to glue it on. Ended up taking the frame off and throwing it away. I'm NONE for TWO, and still looking for a solution to the glare.

Works great and protects my LCD
Works great on my Panasonic LUMIX DMC G2 live view LCD. Did have to remove the plastic screen protector and cover the LCD with a piece of screen protector i use on my iPad so I could use the Touch Screen features of the camera. To close the LCD with the POP Shade attached you just rotate the LCD so the Pop Screen is facing you when the LCD is folded and fits flush with the camera body. I'll add a photo later

Not satisfied, glad it was not too expensive
I took this on a recent trip to China, having been told it would help viewing in sunny weather. I found that it did not help at all, and removed it after a few tries. I am very disappointed in it.

Cumple su función en días soleados normales.
Ahora bien: no esperes milagros.

Helpful for taking video on a DSLR
I have a pentax K-x digital SLR camera which is fantastic for taking still photos. However, I have struggled to make proper use of the HD video on the camera because it is hard to see the image on the 2.7" LCD screen when outdoors in bright sunlight. So I bought this pop-up shade to block out the glare from sunlight on the LCD screen. It is not the complete answer but it certainly helps. I still find it difficult to focus the screen outdoors but I can just about see enough detail to ensure good focus when I have the Delkin pop-pop shade on the camera. It is good value for an DSLR camera accessory. A better solution might be a completely enclosed view finder attachment but these cost more than 10 times the price of the Delkin. It comes with a screen protector mount which has a sort of frame on it. You stick that to your LCD screen and leave it there. The pop-up shade is easily fitted to the mount. It is easily removed - which I prefer to do when taking lots of stills so I can preview as I go. Seems pretty robust.
