Eliminates some squeaks
Used this for e string because it was supposed to eliminate the “whistle”. Seems to do a good job even though it does not appear wound. It is a warm tone.

BEWARE! RIPOFF Amazon Price
As another reviewer said, buy on Southwest Strings website! About 1/2 the price of what you see here. I regret not checking there first! Free shipping too! This is a weird e-string. The bridge end of the string is not straight, it is a helix. Look up "Warchal Helix" to get an idea of what I mean. When you tighten the string the helix almost disappears but is still noticeable. Gets rid of whistling but playing very high position, the sound degrades A LOT. It's a trade-off I guess - requires a different bowing technique to counteract the helix.

Finally a solution to the whistling E!
I've tried other strings that claimed to get rid of the whistling E yet they all failed to do so. I understand as an intermediate player half of the issue is likely me still working on having good form, however, even so I have not had a single whistle on my E string in the last two weeks of practicing! When I switched from A to E on previous strings on a down bow I'd hear that cursed whistle about 80% of the time, it was horrid! I'll be buying this string only from now on.

MEH string - Overpriced on Amazon
The string does not squeak, but it sounds tinny. No doubt about it. For reference, I have an older violin (made in the 1800s). For very fast fiddling, this string was adequate. For really intricate, E-string-intensive classical pieces that require much more careful bowing, this falls short for me because the QUALITY of sound lacks depth. I have no issues with Warchal. I actually LOVE Warchal & have a lot of experience with ALL of their different string products. I have used Warchal Brilliant strings in the past. I currently use the Warchal Brilliant Vintage for my D & G strings, as well as the Warchal A Russian for my A string. They sound fantastic. I expected more from this Amber E.OH & last but not least, Southwest Strings sells these strings for practically half the cost, & they will get the strings to you in relatively the same amount of time as Amazon Prime would. So not only will I not buy this string from this seller again, I won't be buying anything from this seller. I buy a lot from this site & I never give return business to any seller who lends me to regret my purchase due to having paid way too much.

Eliminates whistling!
This string is great! It full eliminates any E whistling, and still has a good tone and projects well.

It’s perfect pitch
I have gotten quite a few compliments about my amber E string. I thought they were talking about my underwear but I wasn’t wearing any I guess they were talking about my violin

Worth a Run
Very light gauge. Nice, dark sound. The A string sounds weird for a few days, but then settles down nicely.
