BRS Physiology (Board Review Series)

After you have read and understood a topic in detail from a proper textbook, this is the book to consult in order to memorise the important points. It breaks all the major "take home" messages down into small, easy to learn points without skimping too much on depth. The cardiovascular physiology section is especially very good with clear, concise descriptions of equations and laden with other need-to-know points, although the respiratory and renal physiology sections are relatively weaker. The real plus point for me is the use of "end-of-chapter" questions. There are hundreds of questions spread throughout the text which really help in allowing you to consolidate the physiological knowledge. There are also questions online which makes this a very effective revision tool. Therefore, I can only recommend this to every medical student who wants a quick revision source for physiology.
