very easy to make, we like Vermont-brand Japanese curry better than S&B
Amazon sells several different brands of Japanese curry mix. S&B is the most popular brand, but Vermont is cheaper and we like the flavor of the Vermont curry better. The Vermont curry has a darker color and richer flavor than S&B. "Hot" spiciness compares to mild or medium at my local Japanese restaurant. In supermarkets, the 8 ounce boxes of Vermont and S&B both cost around $4 each, but for some reason Amazon charges a lot more for the S&B curry. The 8 ounce box of Vermont curry contains 12 blocks of curry mix; which is conveniently 1 block per serving. S&B curry contains 8 blocks for 12 servings, so you have to do some math to figure out how much to use. 1 serving is plenty of sauce for our meals and we don't want to use too much since it does contain a lot of sodium per serving.Traditional Japanese meals add onions, carrots, potato, and meat to the curry. Meat can be chicken, beef, pork, or whatever you have available. We use a variety of vegetables (cabbage, broccoli, etc). You can experiment to see what you like. Stir-fry the onions, add 3 ounces (a little more than 1/4 cup) of water per serving, then simmer the meat and vegetables before adding the curry mix. Stir well with medium heat to thicken the sauce. We get a complete and tasty meal in about 20 minutes (plus rice cooking time). We sometimes use noodles instead of rice for a different flavor and texture to our meals.

Good eatens (And perhaps good for allergies/sinuses?)
Really good stuff. Ate it on a bed of white rice, so far the best way. As a side note, I had a sinus infection and it cleared that out a good bit. Didn’t clear it all out, but my nasal passages were pretty unclogged and warmed the body up; pretty nice to eat when you’re sick.

Exellent Flavor
The flavor of this curry is delicious. I have tried a few different Japanese curry's and this is my favorite. It doesn't really have an out of the box flavor and has a nice complexity to it.

Delicious. "Not too hot, this one is just right" - Goldilocks
Just awesome. I tried the medium hot first, and it wasn't hot enough. This one still isn't really particularly "hot" it's just right. I'm not one of those people who seeks out particularly hot food, so if you're on the fence, try the hot first. This tastes just like the curry I remember from University in Japan which is what I had hoped. Very happy with it.

Our favorite curry
Easy to make. A slightly sweet curry rather than the usual sour Japanese curry or the coconut sweet Thai curry or smoky Indian curry. Good for people who don't normally like curry. Our kids love this!Bought this at about the usual Asian grocery price on Amazon. Saved a little, but now we won't run out.

Shouldn’t buy this curry sauce in the Summer.
I bought a 10 pack set of this Japanese curry sauce. When I opened it, the All of them were melted in the plastic container. Maybe from how they were stored or during the delivery since it was in the summer time.I was a little worried about using bc quality might have changed or flavor. I couldn’t notice any difference when I used the Curry sauce the first time, but I prefer not to use the melted curry sauce in the box.
