A lot of times we think that being more aware or open is only available for a few. In his new book THE HEALING POWER OF MINDFULNESS Jon Kabat-Zinn shows that it's not just something all of us CAN experience. It's something that is your RIGHT. Taking us into his own journey to self-awareness and allowing the reader to see how it all can be begin for them, he is able to take away some of the mystery about mindfulness. And he gives the reader hope.It's not about getting it right. It's about starting. The rest takes care of itself if we allow it to. Probably the biggest wrinkle on the brain for me is that we sometimes talk ourselves out of the peace and happiness we can have. That is something we have to stop doing immediately. Once you realize what you can experience you are able to open yourself up to it. Doing that allows us to live day to day, moment to moment actually experiencing life the way it was meant to be.

Not what I was looking for
This rating is not about questioning the excellence of the author's work. It just was not what I was needing to pursue at this time.

Meh. I wouldn’t buy it again.
I bought these books to write a grant proposal for a mindfulness course. Sadly, the supporting evidence the books provide is anecdotal or vague and really didn’t help. Besides, this is just a reprint of a previous book so it’s essentially just an attempt to squeeze more money out of a previous publication.

Grreat book!!
Even though there are many books out there on Mindfulness, there is always something new offered. Great read, great tools that I will personally use in my own teachings and in my own life. Thanks!!

Being mindful and thankful
This product is for me....I am very fond of self help books...i like helping people and treating people fairly...I am also thankful everyday for my surroundings.

Wondrously mindful
This is an absolutely engrossing update on a timeless classic, so thoughtful, mindful and engaging. Glad it was part of a four part expansion to update and more thoroughly expand the topics.

Could not get this book
I found this book awful and really could not make sense of it. I tried to keep reading it just was not interesting enough to keep engaged. It felt like same info reiterated in various paragraphs. Boring
