This hydrometer reads correctly. I like that the pack comes with 2. There's a chart that definitely comes in handy. I good product at a great price.

Great product

I was honestly surprised to see the size of these hydrometers when they arrived. The listing very clearly states the dimensions (around 11 inches), but somehow I was expecting them to be roughly half the size.They appear well made and arrived in individual cylindrical cases to protect them from accidental drops or bumps.They are accurate and the scale is easy to read.The one downside is that due to their size, you need to have a pretty deep container in order to take a measurement.I tested them and

Knocking off a star for the piece of broken glass inside the hydrometer. I was frustrated that this only works on spirits and not beer but that is on me for not fully reading the description. The case these came in is simple but does a good job of cushioning the hydrometer. These do need a lot of depth to test in (at least 7-8 inches) so be sure to use with a graduated cylinder.

This hydrometer is geared strictly for measuring proof/% of alcohol. The scale is designed to go from 0 to 200 proof and has no measurements for specific gravity (and wouldn't cover specific gravities above 1 anyway). So, if you're testing final distilled products or hard liquor or high proof alcohol, this is for you. If you're making wine and beer and need SG and Brix scales, this is NOT for you.
