Courant Electric Hotplate, Countertop Burner, Single Buffet Electric 1000W Portable Cooktop, stainless Steel

The Courant hotplate has very nice exterior design and temperature control, better than an old Hamilton Beach burner I had. It boils 3 quarts of water in about 20 minutes at the highest setting. One minor issue is that the metal casing becomes hot to touch after 20-min of use, but it does have feet to keep the casing away from the countertop. Otherwise, very satisfied with the purchase.

I wish it wouldn’t stop heating once reaches max temp. Using it for tea station and kettle never whistles.

I bought this as my 1500W burner I bought from Amazon stopped working after about 6 months. Now I realized this 1000W burner is much slower to cook. If You're so hungry, don't use it, keep waiting will make you crazy!I was trying to make some beef stir last night after my husband came back. But the burner was working super slowly, it's annoying for keep waiting. Sometimes you need microwave for urgent help. Another thing is as the comment showed by other customer that the numbers on the knob disappeared within a few days and I could only apply them with a marker.If you want to use this, start it at least 10 minutes earlier it'll be better. This is good for stewing food anyway.

I will definitely get the double range in the near future..The single range is good if you’re using it in smaller areas but it’s just like an actual burner with infrared..This thing is awesome..if you need more cooking space or another burner..THIS IS IT..Hubby was able to cook crabs in his man cave..Double range for his birthday!

I bought this to replace my stovetop while i was waiting for a replacement part to arrive. It doesn't heat enough to brown the breaded pork cutlets or the home fries I was trying to make. It worked ok for eggs and the plated noodle dish I made and such. Also the temp marks on the dial are coming off after 4 uses. This will severely hurt it's remaining usefulness. I was planning on using it to supplement my camp stove but it is going to be headed to Goodwill after my stove is repaired.

I haven't actually used the unit yet. I purchased for a guest cottage to heat water for coffee. I turned on and it did heat up. I was surprised at the high quality appearance of the unit. All stainless housing and molten stone type heating surface. Great value for the money.

I am used to cooking with natural gas, and compared to natural gas this hotplate heats up slowly.It takes about twice as long to cook an egg for my breakfast sandwich (1 egg and cheese on buttered toast) but it will eventually get the job done.When trying to boil 2 cups of water in a stainless steel saucepan, the hotplate turned itself off after about 8 minutes without ever boiling the water.

I love this little cook top, I bought it for the kitchen at work. I wasn't expecting much for heat put out, but this little thing is hot!
