Sharper Image Remote Control Italia Sports Car with Virtual Reality Headset, Silver & Black

It's hard to review the product, because I haven't taken it out of the box. It's a gift for my 9 year old grandson in Germany. What I like about it is that it combines the two things that he's currently crazy for - remote control cars and virtual reality. Might be the gift of the year. I'll let you know when I hear from him.

Not happy with this car at all, I returned it. Charged batter all night, when we used it in the morning it only lasted 5 minutes max. Battery had a date of 2018. Not fast at all; this car is not worth the money.

GOOD:- Easy to learn and use- Camera is definitely a plus- Remote has a place to mount phone to view the image from camera- The VR headset is well built and can be used on its own with your phone (even without the car) with other appsBAD:- Cannot go over obstacles (ex: carpet) that are more than 3mm tall

This is a great RC car and the camera on it makes it a lot of fun to drive! Wish the car was a little larger, other than that, no complaints.

Normally I say that you get what you pay for, however I am not of that opinion in this case. I was disappointed in the car because it turned out to be a simple toy. A light in weight, underpowered, fragile little toy. A small toy car with not very much clearance and power to go from hardwood floors to carpeted floors and/or rugs. Limited range with new and freshly charged battery, the image from the cam was/is it's best feature. This is a little kids toy, not for a big kid hobbiest that imagines himself behind the dash driving or in the cockpit flying the fantastic little machines. I don't see the value in this car for me, although it looks nice. It's now in my RC boneyard. Somedays you get the bear, somedays the bear gets you.

I can only guess about durability and battery issue. I sent it to a preteen grandson who lives over 2000 miles from me. His father said that it was a big hit, with an emphasis on being able to view something from a different angle.

Returned it. The remote control portion didn’t work. My 9 year old son was really disappointed, as he used his own money from allowance to purchase.

The vr app didn’t even work. The controller was flimsy, as well as the car, well it wasn’t durable at all but the battery life wasn’t bad. It didn’t even go quicker than me pushing a matchbox car.
