WiFi Range Extender for SMONET Security Camera System Wireless(NO Power Supply)

Very hard to install with zero direction. Advice: 1st upgrade your NVR firmware. 2. Upgrade all the software on your cameras. 3. Take all your cameras down and bring them into the house so you can sync each one WITHOUT unplugging extender (need to buy the plug BTW). After they are all updated and synced you can put the cameras back doesn’t matter in the extender gets unplugged at this point. Once the cameras are up and plugged in you can begin searching for the best location for the extender. Like the cameras your gonna have to find the sweet spot, but be patient there’s some lag time. If you watch the extender lights on the front you’ll see if the cameras are using the extender or not. But you don’t need all the lights for them to be connected. If you go to NVR repeater page you will see them connected even if you only have 1 or 2 lights. Learn how to sync properly as well. You can find videos on YouTube. Took me a while to get it right but I’ve had the cameras for 2 years now and this is by far the best reception I’ve ever gotten and I’ve tried everything else.

Doesn’t come with an AC adapter which is required for it to work. There’s no indication what kind of adapter is needed. I was able to use a spare adapter for my camera to get it setup. Instructions are typical made in China jibberish so setup was basically trial and error. I did get it setup as a repeater to extend the range of my wireless camera system but it definitely wasn’t plug and play.

Take a wired system and make it wireless. don't see how that would work with what you get. If your system is wireless there are no directions to tell you how to make this a range extender. There are no directions at all. Also, there is no power adapter, so really you have to pieces of plastic you can't do anything with.

This thing does not include a power cable and does not state that anywhere on the page. It also doesn't tell you what kind to buy...

I don’t know why some reviewers give some bad reviews. After I set it up and my cameras runs with no lagging anymore. The only problem for some users is they don’t set it up the right way but if you can contact the customer support they will carefully run you through the set up process. They will call you back if they miss your call!
