Great for Ground-In Pet Hair
We’re struggling with 6 year old carpet, having three dogs and one cat. We’re replacing this carpet this year, but meanwhile — UGH! I’ve tried a ton of cleaning/freshening solutions, but dry powder overall works best to deodorize, while not degrading the backing further. This product in particular is far and away the best at lifting pet hair. It requires that you brush it in, then wait a few hours or more (you’ll see it turn white again when it’s ready). It smells great, but not super perfume-y.I vacuum it up with a shop vac because allergens deep in the carpet are a concern here - but a normal vacuum gets it just fine.I use it in my car, also. I apply it the night before, and then vacuum it up at the car wash the next day.If you’re looking for something to get stains out, this isn’t what you need. It can fade stains by getting rid of sticky dirt, but it’s not going to magically erase spots where the carpet fibers have actually been “dyed”.It doesn’t go very far. This is honestly a pretty spendy solution. You’ll need almost one whole container per room. However, it can be used whenever and makes a huge difference for pet smells and other kinds of lingering “funk.”

It works
I works well. A little bit goes a long way. Don’t sprinkle too much on it or you’re just wasting it. Vacuum after the suggested time or leave it on longer, then vacuum. Cleans, softens, and freshens the carpet, absorbs smells, not a just covering them up.

Works well, is just a bit time consuming.
In terms of getting rid of odors and refreshing your rugs/carpet this product is great. It has a nice fresh scent and lasts for a good while. We have 3 dogs, so keeping our home clean and fresh is very important to us. The only drawback is that to get the most out of the product, you need to brush it in to the fibers of the carpet and then leave it for a period of time before you vacuum it up. So whichever area you intend to use it, just be prepared not to utilize that area for about 20 minutes or so or you’ll track the powder all over your house!

Mixed feelings with this
I absolutely love arm and hammer products. They're usually very effective, smell decent, and are a good price point. I've never seen this in stores before but I found it here so I thought I'd give it a try. I was worried from other reviews with it opening during shipment but my lid did come with a piece of tape keeping it closed. The powder itself is really chunky and the opening is huge so it's hard to sprinkle it out without getting too much or too little. I tried it on 3 of my biggest stains. 1 stain is just from dirt and mud which worked ok. You can still see some dirt but I think if I repeated the application it would take out more. The other 2 stains are from my dog throwing up. The more recent stain came up almost flawlessly however the stain thats about 2 weeks old didn't really come out. You can see it helped but it didn't fully come out like the other stain. I like that this is safe around animals and kids and it's a very mild smelling powder. I'm not 100% sure I'd purchase it again tho

Better than Resolve
Much better than the Resolve product. Cleans way better. Why they started charging $33 is beyond me. Is it because it is no longer manufactured?

Impressed- rugs are so soft and fluffy
I was skeptical when I first opened this product and saw the texture of the powder. I sprinkled it on my rugs, brushed it in with a soft-bristle cleaning brush, and left it to dry for 30 min. I think the brushing helped to pick up a lot of cat hair that was stuck in the rug, which was an added bonus. It was easy enough to vacuum out and left my rugs softer and brighter than they have been in a long time. The only negatives were that the powder does fly everywhere when you're brushing it in, so I was trying not to inhale any. Some scattered off the rug and my vacuum had trouble picking it up for some reason. Overall, very happy with this product.

Magic powder, really works
When one of our dogs first developed diabetes, he started having so many accidents in the house (an early warning sign your dog might have diabetes) I was worried the carpets could not be saved. It was so foul, I was looking into the cost of having someone come in and shampoo the whole basement, maybe perform an exorcism too. I’d been scrubbing every spot I could find with Resolve and a carpet brush, but the smell was still overpowering. I decided to get some of this powder before dropping major cash on machinery or professional services and could not be more impressed with the results. I wish the canister had a shaker lid or something, but it worked okay without. I would pour a little at a time by hand and brush it into the carpet, leave it for a bit, and then vacuum. It’s not quick work, but there are no quick solutions for a urine-soaked carpet, and it’s a lot less expensive than anything else I could think of. I am going to keep this stuff in stock for as long as we have pets. Even though my little diabetic dog has regained bladder control, it’s only ever a matter of time before one of the dogs does something gross in the house. Thank god for this stuff!

Didn’t work. At all.
So, first off, Arm and Hammer doesn’t seal the container. It has a snap top lid that is only secured by one thin piece of tape. See my attached pictures of how that turned out during shipping. And to be clear, this was not an Amazon or shipping problem. The shipping box was not damaged, and it had plenty of padding inside. The manufacturer doesn’t seal this household cleaner to prevent tampering or opening in transit. I opened my shipping box and POOF!!! Powder everywhere! On me, in my eyes and mouth, on my kitchen counter, my stove, my tile floor, and my poor dogs. About half of the product was out of the container and just floating around in the box. It was a hot mess to clean up.It also just doesn’t work. I used the entirety of what spilled in the box to clean a small (about 2ft x 2ft), high traffic area of my carpet as a test patch, and it made no difference at all, aside from making my room smell like someone emptied the entire contents of a small perfume factory in there. My carpet is still just as dirty, and I had all that headache to deal with for absolutely no reason at all. It did literally nothing but make another mess for me to clean up and waste my money.
