Mongoose Silva Mountain Bike, For Women and Girls

Definitely easy to assemble, but I'm experienced. Built nice and good quality. Should last a long time. Happy with this purchase.

I was a little hesitant since the reviews I read were so varied. But my daughter loved it so we got it! It’s a great bike! Very sturdy, good quality. Assembly was a bit of a challenge for certain parts and it is a heavy bike. But all in all it’s great!

The frame is strong and great color , but the brakes make noise because are low quality. That is the reason I didn’t select 5 stars.

This was a tough one because the reviews weren’t all that great, but there were only 5 of them at the time. I took a chance for my daughter’s 10th birthday. She loves it so far. Assembly really wasn’t too difficult. I’ve put together some whoppers in the past as well. I took note of the loose neck screw that some complained about but so far have not had an issue and everything appears nice and tight. I had to make adjustments to the brakes and that was probably the most taxing but not difficult at all. The difficult part was trying to do all that while my daughter was anxiously watching me. But hey, so far so good. Oh, the seat came with a small gouge in it. I am going to contact the seller and I’ll update on that as it transpires.

Disappointed that this bike didn’t work out for my 7.5 year old daughter. Love the looks of it and I had a Mongoose BMX bike way back in the day that was built strong. This was unfortunately not. The biggest issue, and the reason I returned this, was that the headset screw would not tighten sufficiently so that the handle bars wouldn’t stay true and would occasionally pivot dangerously off center WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS RIDING. She fell once and that was it. I tried to tighten and fix but it simply wouldn’t.The rest of the assembly was pretty straight forward all though we did have consistent rubbing issues with the front breaks. Impossible to true up.

Bought this bike for my daughter for her bday. Put together really easy out of the box. Colors are bright and paint looked really good. Great bike for the price.

Mixed feelings so far. Didn't have any broken or missing pieces in the box but did see the concern with the handlebar stem to getting tight enough. I added a crush washer and some friction onto the stem that hopefully keeps things tight, so far so good. Overall, components feel cheap. This is a $180 bike - I am not sure in what way this is better than bikes half the price. I was hoping I am getting something better than a $100 bike but I am not sure - brakes, shifter all seem very cheap. Bike drive train makes some clunking noise when I ride it, but not when my daughter rides it. Shouldn't happen but okay so far. It's difficult to find a good bike in this price range I guess. We also bought a Mongoose Status 2.2 which costs the same and is heavier (due to reae suspension) but feels more solid overall.

Love my mongoose bike, attractive look and sturdiness. Received many compliments on this bike, the only thing I will add is a bike seat cushion for it so it can be totally comfortable.
