UTM Security with Fortinet: Mastering FortiOS

Overall this is a great resource in paperback for your technical library. With that said, it is also dated and really needs to be updated for the FortiOS currently in use.Pros: The CLI commands are on point. While the GUI provides good information, the CLI output really points you in the right direction. The book highlights how things are viewed by the OS and how they flow. It covers some function in more detail such as Traffic Shaping either based on Policy or per-IP.Cons: Does not touch in depth on others functions with the Firewall policy such as AntiVirus. ie: Proxy or flow based. Does either help reduce the impact on the CPU? FortiOS has be updated several times so maybe this too needs some adjustments.Overall, a great resource yet might well be a 5 star with an update.

As a FortiNet Certified Network Security Professional, this book does a great job of describing FortiNet and UTM. Their are not a lot of books out their on FortiNet, so this should definetely be part of your arsenal if you want to work with FortiNet product line.

I have been using Fortinet products for awhile and I found this book to be very informative as well as insightful. I highly recommend this book for people new to Fortinet and even those that have used the products for awhile, you will definitely pickup tips and tricks.

This book is an overview of the Fortinet UTM and did not offer information or insight into the confirmation or management of the appliance.

Its ok, bought it to have a deeper dive into settings up antivirus ips ids usage but was a little fluffy, i.e. just general blurb. Not the nitty griity info I was hoping for. Apart from that not to bad for quick setup reference.Fenixryan

The Heading is like you will learn in depth of UTM. But inside story is different.Amazon is charging too much for the books, the contents / Topics are not fully explained,It's worth only around 450-500 is enough, it's like read headlines of firewall with few images.Not satisfied.
