Strong & Secure but poorly explained details MORE INFO HERE
OK, first things first: this is NOT a lead! Neither practical nor comfortable to try to walk a dog with this thing, it's way too stiff & unwieldy. Also, very short. If you have a problem chewer, I think a lightweight chain leash would provide more flex & mobility. As a tie-out, though, this thing is the BEST!I purchased two different sizes, the small and the large. Inexplicably, both are the same size. The large is slightly longer due to bigger clips but the cable itself isn't any longer, just a bit thicker. I'd say it's about the circumference of a pencil, while the small is more like a strand of linguine if it was rolled instead of flat, if that makes sense. Perciatelli, perhaps?Got the small one first, as a safe tie-out for outside the cafe every morning when I duck in to grab a cup of coffee before our walk. My collie mix gets antsy when she's left alone, and will chew thru other leashes in seconds. This one's the only thing that keeps her safe.So I figured maybe it'd be good to have a longer one, maybe for tying her out while setting up a tent or washing the car, etc. I thought it might be good to give her a little more "wiggle room" than the Small gave us -- from clip to clip, it was only 3 feet so when I ordered the Large I figured it'd be... oh, I dunno... LARGER..??But no. The item description says 4 feet but that's a misprint or something cause it's just not true. Maybe the company is still tweaking item description, cause when I ordered these at two different times, I was asked if I wanted to include a fabric handle at the added cost of $11.95. Both times, I declined yet both times the handle came with the "leash" anyway. I see it's no longer listed as a suggested "buy with" item but if it pops up again, I would definitely NOT buy the handle.A handle would be kinda useless anyway, IMHO -- like I said, it's not a leash but a tie-out, really. Using this as a leash would be awkward cause the cable is too stiff to provide much control. How can the dog tell when it's "loose"? How can you feel when there's tension? If your idea of walking a dog is being pulled by a tether down the street, this might work for you but for anyone interested in training/communicating with the creature at the other end of your leash, this ain't gonna cut it.Still -- what a great tool for the doggie tool kit! This thing is STRONG! My dog is a quick & thorough chewer but even the skinny little Small is enough to keep her where I clipped her. Perfect length, by the way, for sidewalk stays. And when we want a little more freedom to move around, I clip the Small to the Large and we have a little more than six feet, which is a nice length so far, maybe I'll buy another 3 feet or possibly look for something similar at the hardware store that can be modified with clips.Hope this helps! Good luck with your pets!

has been great so far
We purchased two of these leashes for our 50-60 lb pitbull/lab mix pups a little over a year ago after one of them chewed through her standard cheapo department store leash. The durability, as advertised, has been great so far. The 5.6ft leash is a great length for walking around the park or a stroll through the neighborhood, giving the dogs enough breathing room without giving them the chance to get into or cause any trouble. Neither our orange nor black leash have faded at all in color.I only have 2 minor complaints:1) At the extreme ends of the leash before you get to the metal buckles, the leash is covered with about half an inch of an extremely thin rubber that WILL wear out. The result is exposing the metal material that makes up the leash. This material is woven metal strands, and unfortunately on one of our leashes we now have one a metal point extruding that can hurt if touched. I need to try to cut off this metal end without damaging the leash.2) To temporarily "shorten" the leash while walking the dogs (such as when a car is flying by), we grab the leash at the center to restrict the dogs movement a bit more. One of the leashes has now developed a permanent small kink where we grab the leash in the center. It looks a little funny, but hasn't affected the strength and does straighten back out while pulled on each end. I worry about the long-term effect of the kink on the metal strands in the leash, but only time will tell if the worry is warranted.Regardless of these minor complaints, the leash has performed exactly as advertised.

Pulling pup managed to break the handle.
We rescued a mix breed pup in August of 2020. Since that time he’s gnawed his way through 3 leashes: 2 nylon strap style and one rubber. Since he’s a pretty strong boy who likes to chomp on the lead, I needed something much sturdier so I don’t have to worry about him tearing through another leash. In the short weeks we’ve used this, I can say my only worry now is he’ll pull the harness apart before this thing gives out. This is by far the strongest leash we’ve used, and I absolutely love the peace of mind it gives me. My only wish for this is that it had a second handle. My dog is approximately 60 pounds and still growing so an additional handle about half way down could help control a strong-willed pup.ETA: this leash finally broke on us today, a little over a month after ordering. The cord itself is intact, it broke where the handle/loop connects to the top of the leash. I’ll be off to our local pet store today to get a replacement leash. I’m bummed by this because of how sturdy it seemed. Fortunately my pup was on a fitness path and not our normal walk down in the neighborhood when this happened. 2 stars removed for this: if your dog does not pull, this may still be for you.

So far so good
I got this for my mini aussie puppy who managed to chew through three leashes in less than 48 hours. So far this is the only one that's stood up. She did go through the rubber cover of the connectors, but the leash is still good to go. The only time it's a bit awkward is when she meets other dogs and they try to play. It's also pretty easy to closeline people and it's not much fun to get wrapped around your legs, but works great for not being chewed through. The carabiner on the handle is really handy for attaching her to things. Overall I would buy this again in a heartbeat and might actually buy a second one.
