A good mid-range headset with interesting amp features.
I will preface that I have only had this headset for a week now, so I can't say to how it holds up over time at this point. The sound quality you get out of the headset is good, and seems to be on par with the other TurtleBeach headsets I have owned (which have all had good sound quality), the headset itself is almost identical to the TurtleBeach X12 headset, except that instead of the striking green on black color scheme, they went for a grey on black which makes it a little more subdued. The microphone works well and picks up sound well even when not directly in front of your mouth and the overall comfort when wearing it for a long period of time is good. I can easily wear these for 4 or more hours without feeling neck strain or scalp discomfort (which is something I can't say for the TurtleBeach Z300).The super amp is a very interesting piece of hardware. It came mostly charged for me, though I plugged it in to my PC until the battery indicator went solid green (saying it was fully charged) and then unplugged it. While connected to the USB, you will get a hum in the headset; but this seems to be a fairly common issue with improper grounding in USB on the PC end, and is likely not something that is brought on by the headset itself. When turned off, the super amp goes into a pass-through mode which completely bypasses the amp's functionality, but allows you to continue using your headset even when the amp is off.Super amp functionality is relatively large from what I have seen in low cost amps (and is actually surprisingly feature rich, even among higher end amps). You have a master volume, virtual surround sound, talkback (how loud your own voice is played through your headset), and bass boost setting that you can switch to using the central button (resulting in it cycling clockwise through the functions each time your press the button and then starting over when it gets to the end), and a dial on the side allows you to change the values for each of the settings. Holding the center button for about 5 seconds will reset all the function settings back to their defaults. As far as I can tell, the virtual surround sound is a fancy name for cross-over between the left and right audio streams, so nothing too exciting there. When you scroll the level wheel to 100% or 0% for each of the functions you get a tone in your headset stating that you have hit the end, which is very useful since the level wheel doesn't have any hard stops in it that refuse to allow you to continue rotating it.The amp also has a separate button for mic mute and "super human hearing". Mic mute does exactly what you would expect it to: Mutes your mic when the button is glowing red (engaged), and doesn't when it is dark. The super human hearing button engages a normalization that boosts lows to stand out more. It doesn't make sounds that you couldn't hear previously all of the sudden be there, but it does help emphasize them.On the side opposite the level wheel, there is a 3-point slider for each of the "console modes" that the super amp can be placed in. Mine came defaulted to PS4, but there are also Xbox One and PC/Mobile options available. I am not really sure that I can tell you what the difference of the modes is as I have only used (and only plan on using) this headset with my PC.However, there are some things I wish that this headset had that it doesn't.1. The cable lengths are a bit restricting. The super amp's output cable is short (less than 3 feet) and the cable from the headset is approximately the double that length. I would have liked to have a shorter cable from the headset to the super amp, and then a longer cable from the super amp to the PC/controller/mobile device, but that's just me and is also something that a twist-tie and cable extension can resolve.2. Neither the headset or the super amp have a hardware mic mute. This means that if the super amp is turned off (thus placing the headset into pass-through mode), the mic can't be muted. I would have loved to have an additional switch on the side of the super amp that was a hardware mute capable of functioning regardless of whether the super amp was on or not (much like the TurtleBeach X12 has).3. It would have been nice if this headset had come with a headset splitter so I didn't have to purchase one separately to get the single 4-pole jack split out to the 3-pole headphones, and 3-pole mic jacks that my PC takes.

They have lasting power
I still have these that I use for my PS4/5. The mic gets picked up easily so thats annoying a bit but no matter how many times I step on them I can always put them back together so that has been really nice. The durabililty here has been great.

If you loved the X12s from the Xbox 360 era...these will feel familiar.
Purchased these a while back so I would have a decent headset since I upgraded to Xbone from Xbox 360. If you ever used the X12s for Xbox 360 like me, you probably loved how simple it was to use, durability of the headset, and overall comfort. These PX24s are essentially the same headset with a recolored design and additional features that are completely optional [and mostly worthless honestly] in the audio chat mixer. You can change all those functions in the settings menu itself and prevents you from having to charge this extra dongle. It is of note that you can boost bass/boost "footstep" audio with it, but I found it wasn't that helpful in the majority of games I played.Considering I wear glasses, comfort was paramount to my purchasing decision and any headset that gripped your head too tight would cause headaches fairly quickly due to shoving your ears against your glasses ear rests and into your head (cheaper tritton sets, other more expensive Turtle Beaches, even the Astros that I tried). More expensive sets might sound better, but if they hurt to wear then I'll take the cheaper ones every time.Headset weight was also considered and was the other main reason I went with the X12s back in the day and the PX24s this time around. Super lightweight and have breathable ear cushions (mesh fabric instead of fake leather). Mic is easily adjustable and all as well.I've never had an issue with TB's breaking, though their chat cords have been iffy (X12s chat cord constantly had feedback noises) and this one will occasionally disconnect causing my audio/mic to stop working for up to ten seconds at a time. Not sure if this is fairly typical of all headsets, but it is rather annoying. If I had to get a new headset and didn't get these, I'd look into either the Polk Audio Striker P1/Zx headset (one comes with xbone adapter, one doesn't but both are the same headset), the Hyper X Cloud IIs, or the Plantronics RIG Flex LX headsets. All are about the same (or better) than the TB PX 24s and have better reviews overall.

Not bad for the price.
It's overwhelming how many different types of headphones Turtle Beach has out there and they keep coming out with new models all the time! I was looking for a headset that I can use on both my Xbox One and PS4 and I think I found them. I actually have a pair of Astro's A50 Gen 2 that I bought late last year but I just got tired of charging and disconnecting them each time I wanted to use them for each system. But as some of you may know Astro's are top of the line and sound quality is choice but technology is getting simple and other headphones are coming that offer other options.I do agree with the other reviewers. You do get what you pay for but that's a good thing. These headphones are actually real sharp. They provide good mic and audio quality. The amp box gives you choices to suit your style. The virtual surround sound is average but at least something is there and the bass is strong. I'm not too sure about the super human hearing option. The sound distorts a bit during tense scenes like explosions and it sounds a bit shallow when this is turned on. But who knows that's just me and you may like it. Even though these are multi-platform I feel these headphones where designed for the PS4. They just sound better on PS4 the highs are crisp and the bass is even. On Xbox One they sound good but something is missing. For $80 you really can't go wrong with these. They are comfortable to wear too. You do need to charge the amp box but it lasts for 30 hours. Yes I went from a top of the line headset to these and some people think I'm crazy for switching but I was looking for simplicity. Try them out you can always return them.

Me gustaron mucho.
