Nice....... But A Little Over Priced
Upon opening the box I was slightly disappointed with the product. I guess I was expecting something different, like the headliner to be made of a much denser type of foam. This foam is about an inch thick and very light and airy. Less dense than say cushioning foam...by far! It does have a nice black finish on one side which will look nice and give the roof a finishing touch but I can't imagine that it is going to offer much in the way of insulation or "sound deading" except maybe to soften inside acoustics a bit. But judging from sight, touch and feel it seems extremely over priced for what it is. If I had personally examined this product prior to ordering I woud not have paid this kind of a price. Maybe half this much. Perhaps it will perform better than it appears it will?I will update the review after I have installed it.UPDATE: I have installed the headliner and so far I am impressed. It was a fairly simple install and it looks great, especially compared to the white plastic look of the original top. It does make the vehicle somewhat quieter, but better than that, the insulation factor is even more noticeable! Before installing this headliner the sun would beat down on the top and make the interior unbearably hot, even on 70 degree days. With the headliner installed I have noticed a major decrease in the interior temperature even on extremely hot 90 degree days. If for no other reason the headliner is worth the insulation value alone.I have changed my review to 5 stars based on performance and looks. I still think it's a little on the expensive side but I'm glad I made the purchase.

Amazing Heat reduction
Well over Memorial Day weekend I bought my first long overdue Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Hardtop as a retirement present!I live in South Florida and driving home from dealership I realized this is going to need some type of inside insulation before summer. I scoured the internet and this company (DEI) kept coming up as the best. So I ordered the kit in a couple days it came. Next day I followed instructions and began installing panels took a little over an hour and half (take your time). Looked incredible and fits well, but the next day would tell it if it works. Well it hit a record 96 degrees I got in and knew it felt a lot cooler than without panels. I turned the AC on and within 10 minutes of driving I could turn it on low whereas before it wouldn’t keep really cool on high! I’m sold costs a little more but money was well spent! Also makes sounds system and conversations sound way better too! Try it your’ll love it!

2nd time is the charm!
The first order received was for the JL, not the JK. But they promptly sent the replacement order and it was for my 2017 Wrangler JK Sahara, 4-door. This has been my “fun” second car since June 2023 but will be my primary vehicle for the next 6+ months so I’m trying to make it more comfortable and functional. We installed the first row and third row easily, but I enlisted my husband for the second row so he could lift off the roof and create space between the roll bar/speaker bar. Without lifting the roof, there’s not enough space to safely slide the panel in and not risk ruining the panel. So far so good, the panels have been installed for 24 hours. Time will tell if the adhesive will stick in this North Carolina summer heat. No matter what, I will still keep the panels and just use additional adhesive to make them stay. I did give 4 stars due to the initial delivery issues and because one of the panels was damaged in two spots. One corner was slightly torn and the other had no adhesive left, but it didn’t really matter because it can’t be seen, it’s just worth noting because they were not in new condition.Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. It has definitely upgraded the interior look and feel of my vehicle. The roof is no longer burning my hand to the touch and I can already tell it’s quieter. Very excited about this. I will follow-up at a later date on this purchase. #happyjeepgirl

What a difference! Absolutely worth it!!!
I was on the fence buying these. I'm new to the world of Jeep, but was shocked at how hot my freedom roof panels got in the SoCal sun, even with the air cranked, I could feel it radiating down on me and they were always too hot to touch during the day. ...I figured it was worth it.I started doing my usual research, reading reviews, etc, and found that the Hot Heads panels had a lot of detractors regarding their effectiveness and/or ability to stay adhered to the roof. These had the overall best reviews, and the price was much more reasonable.I fully removed my roof so I could really clean them well (degreaser, then soapy water, then rubbing them down with a clean cloth and isopropyl alcohol). For install, I'd caution that these can "stretch" if you aren't careful while peeling off the back while placing them down, so be careful to lay them out exactly where you want them, then start peeling from one corner and DON'T pull on them while laying them down. ...if you prepped the surface liek I did, they will NOT come up to reposition. Once stuck, they are STUCK!...but that's a good thing. They aren't going anywhere! Now for to best news, WOW, what a difference!!!I never feel heat radiating down anymore. Even when it's over 100 degrees out, these prevent that heat from cooking my cabin. My AC can now cool the Jeep pretty quickly, and I can turn it way down, once cool, and maintain a comfortable temperature. For folks looking at them for acoustic properties, I'm not sure they make a huge difference, but they certainly won't hurt. For me the goal was heat prevention, and man do they deliver!!!Worth. Every. Penny.
