I'm so excited to have this book! Besides the fact that it is well written and laid out beautifully, it was really great to read about Karena's and Katrina's back stories a little bit and why they got into fitness. I've already read up through chapter one and am in love. These two have built such a community of strong, supportive women and you can actually feel that energy through this book.I've been on a health and fitness journey for quite some time, each year learning new things about the world and myself. It's been challenging to learn how to be healthy, or even what healthy is and what it means for me. So its amazing to finally immerse myself into a rock solid program like Tone It Up that can help guide me through this process. And having this 5-Day "Reset" book as a tool will be priceless.There are repeat recipes, but I don't mind that too much as I'm new enough that I haven't tried many of them anyway. I just wish they had suggestions for which recipe to use for which meal. But I won't have an issue figuring that out as I count my calories and macros anyway.

Perfect for any Women looking to Reset their Body, Mind and Spirit.
Karena Dawn and Katrina Scott the founders and trainers of Tone It Up have out done themselves with this beautiful book. It is a must read for every women, whether you are apart of the community or not. Balanced and Beautiful is a 5 day reset for yourself and it gives women the tools they need to feel refreshed, motivated, inspired, energized and relaxed in their every day lives.I am just about finished with the book and amazed at how much more it has taught me. Being apart of the Tone It Up community for a little over a year, I was worried it would be redundant and it was everything but. It is definitely a resource I know I will come back to over and over again when I feel like my body, mind and spirit need a resetting. Thank you Karena and Katrina for pouring your hearts out into this book and giving women everything they need to feel their happiest, healthiest, Balanced and Beautiful selves.

A must read on this forever fitness and wellness journey.
Aside from being a genuinely well written guide for those of us constantly trying trying to find balance in our individual wellness and fitness journey, the best part of K&K’s new book is that it offers some real life advice from the people who have inspired us all the most—> The #TIUCOMMUNITY, our #TIUSISTER. I would’ve loved seeing some different recipes from the community as well since a lot of the recipes featured in the book aren’t new to those of us who have the nutrition plan or have done any of the challenges.All and all, this book, to me, isn’t just a one time 5-day detox, but a guide where I can go back and and re-read a chapter on something I’m having a difficult time in and in that moment and it will help to re-center me. I’m pretty sure i’ll be re-reading the chapter on motivation;)

A motivating and beautiful book, but if you're already a nutrition plan member, there are a lot of repeat recipes
I've been a member of the Tone It Up (TIU) nutrition plan since June of 2013, and love to follow Katrina and Karena on social media and participate in their various challenges. Since I already own the plan, I wasn't sure if this book would provide me with new information, but it does -- and overall I'm glad I pre-ordered it, even though there quite a bit of repeated recipes if you're already a member of the nutrition plan.Whereas their first book provides a 28-day plan to get you on track with your fitness goals, this one focuses on taking five days to re-charge and re-set your body, and each day includes recipes, exercises, and motivational tips to do.The book is divided up into the following chapters:* Introduction -- How It All Began, Get to Know Us, Welcome to Tone It Up, Your Guide to Feeling Balanced and Beautiful* Day 1 -- Refresh* Day 2 -- Motivate* Day 3 -- Inspire* Day 4 -- Energize* Day 5 -- Relax* Conclusion -- You're Balanced and BeautifulWhile there aren't many chapters, each one is about 40-45 pages long, so each one really goes into good depth. The chapters are broken down into several main sections: Girl Talk, Spiritual Guide, Workout Guide, Recipe Guide, Girlfriend Guide, and Action Guide, before closing out with a Connect section that offers suggestions from members of the TIU community on how they integrate various principles into their own lives. Essentially, each day includes a breakdown of the recipes you should be eating, the workout moves you should be doing (and there are multi-step photos of each one), and suggestions for creating a day that is centered around the key word.Members of the TIU nutrition plan already have access to their 5-Day Detox (which came out in January of this year and which I've had great luck using in the past), but this book goes into much more depth, providing tips for each day. I really like the short essays, but many of the photos come from the TIU website and emails, and I was especially disappointed in the recipes since many of them (like the Beet the Bloat Salad, TIU pancakes, TIU Tray Bake, Blondie Muffins, Blueberry-Chia Muffins, PB&J Smoothies, K&K Kale Salad, etc.) are straight from the members' 5-Day Detox and/or nutrition plan. That being said, the in-depth format is nice, and they even include spa recipes to use on your face and body.I'm also vegan, and most of the recipes in this book are vegan, with only a couple of them using eggs or animal products. There are, for instance, some dinner recipes that use chicken or fish, but you can swap out a vegetarian or vegan protein source.Overall, I'm glad I got this and know that I'll find inspiration in the ideas and short essays, but if you already own the nutrition plan you may not feel like it's necessary. It's like buying a hard-bound book version of their 5-Day Detox, but one that goes into a lot more depth and one that provides a lot more motivational tips.Hope that helps!UPDATE ON 8-25-18: I wanted to mention that Karena and Katrina announced yesterday (the release date of the book) that the TIU community is going to be following the plan in this book starting on August 6, 2018, in case you're interested in joining in the challenge.

Balanced and Beautiful is the absolute best book to fit all your fitness, girl talk, inspiration, healthy foodies need, and so much more! This book speaks and brings to life what the Tone It Up Community is all about, it gives me chills! You’ll read this book and instantly feel connected to the TIU Community, it truly represents how women from all around the world have found each other because of Tone It Up, that’s so special! Tone It Up has changed my life, and this book couldn’t be more of the perfect way to start your TIU journey if you are looking into buying this book! Couldn’t be more of a better book for girls of all ages, races, and walks of life! You’ll want to have this book in your hands! It’s so amazing!!

Absolutely beautiful book!
Not only is this book going to look beautiful on your coffee table and be an amazing conversation starter but is also the perfect partner in helping live a well rounded lifestyle. It’s pages are full of gorgeous inspiring photos, stories, advice, motivating workouts and delicious recipes (spoiler alert, the avocado brownies are nothing short of delicious!!). This book is a must have for anyone looking to jump into this amazing Tone It Up community or just looking for some inspiration in living a balanced lifestyle.

A different type of challenge!
If you know Katrina Scott and Karena Dawn, you’re probably familiar with their Tone it Up fitness community.If so: this is not like their usual plans.So whether you like this book or not will probably be based on how you answer the following questions:Are you looking for a fitness plan to follow? Are you looking for a cheaper/smaller version of the nutrition guide? Are you looking to get STARTED with exercise?If you answered yes to any of these questions, this might not be the book for you. There is another book called “28 Days to Fit, Fierce and Fabulous” that might be more relevant to you!But:Have you lost motivation? Are you in a rut? Are you overwhelmed? Are you stressed? Do you want to get back into your fitness routine but you’re not quite sure how?If you answered yes to any of the above, this would be a great way to start again!The book is based on a 5 day journey to “reset” yourself and includes different ideas and challenges to do so.Whilst there’s suggested recipes and exercises for each stage/day, I would say that the book is definitely more dedicated to the spiritual and mental side of getting back on track, rather than it being a physical one.But it surely is an eye opener and for any of you girls doubting yourself, feeling guilty for having neglected workouts or just having such a busy life you’re not sure where to begin, I would wholeheartedly recommend this book.To end this review with a fitting quote from the book: “You are strong, you are gorgeous, you are brilliant, you are loved and you are enough.”

So Much Great Stuff!
This was an amazing book to help reset my fitness regime after an injury and surgery. I was able to take my time and read it during recovery and then implement the 5 day plan .. and a lot of the recipes were really great for my recovery. There's so much here that is helpful and I love the positive attitude and energy of these two ladies. Their such a life force to women on the journey to being healthy AND self love.
