What I have been waiting for!
I love to fish for smallmouth bass. This often means changing out lures repeatedly to find the one that works that day. I have tried dozens of different styles and brands of terminal tackle over the last 50 years. They all have had various failures and difficulties. Mustad has a winner with these easy to use and failure proof clips. Quick on/off and super strong. Buy several sizes to work with the size lures and hooks you are using. I have not tried the swivel version but believe they would be great for trolling.

Good Concept But Often Too Small in Size 2 - 3.5/5.0 Stars
The concept of these clip/snaps is that one can press-and-twist them onto and off of the connecting eye loops of a lure and thereby save a lot of time versus direct tying the lure. When they are sized properly in relation to the thickness and diameter of the connecting loop on the lure, they work great. However, these either won't work at all or won't attach without a great deal of effort and frustration on a lure that has too thick or large of an eye loop. The Fastach is a partial corkscrew or spiral on the end of a short shank with a loop on the other end to which one ties on one's line. The Fastach sizing increases in size as the number increases, so the smallest Fastach is a 0 or 1, the size 2 is a medium-small, the 3 is a medium-large, and the 4 is a very large. I would say the Size 2 is suitable for trout fishing in streams, or finesse bass fishing, the Size 3 is suitable for most bass lures, and the size 4 would be suitable for lures used for pike or salmon-sized fish. The size 2 Fastach will attach well to a small jerkbait (maybe 2.5"), a smaller jig head, or a 1/16 or 1/8 oz. spinner like a Panther Martin. It was difficult to attach to a Strike King mini-spinnerbait and impossible to attach to a larger lure like a full-size spinnerbait or a full-sized crankbait or jerkbait. Large split rings also made it difficult or impossible to connect, both because of the excess thickness of the double wire on a split ring, and because the split ring is dangling from the attachment loop on the lure and was unsteady trying to twist the Fastach's spiral around the split ring.PROS- When sized properly for the correct size lure, they work well and are quick to attach to the lure or remove from the lure- Attaches more securely and appears to be stronger than a typical snap-style clip - once it's on a lure, it's not coming off unless you twist it off deliberately.- Acts as a mini-leader giving an inch or so of extra protection against bites from toothy fish like a pike.- Allows use of a shorter fluorocarbon leader, as there is no need to keep clipping and retying line, losing leader line with each re-tie.- Doesn't impact lure action with most luresCONS:- Difficult and extremely frustrating, if not impossible, to use on lures with too large of attachment rings or loops.- Sizing of the Fastach is not always compatible with what would appear to be an appropriate-sized lure. Some small lures that would seem to need a size 1 or size 2 Fastach cannot attach with less than a size 3 and the size 3 seems too big for the lure.- I noticed that some lures seem to have diminished and impacted action compared to direct-tying. For example, I tried to use a size 3 tied on to a medium-light spinning rod with some mini-sized crankbaits like a Rebel grasshopper or with small jig heads with 1"-2" softbaits like a Trout Magnet or crappie-sized curly-tailed grub and the size 3 was too big; probably direct tying is necessary with smaller lures, particularly shallow-diving or topwater, and with some larger ones, too.CONCLUSION:This is the kind of product that, when it works, works really well, but it will not work well in all cases. Part of the problem is that the size 2 is really a bit too tight in the spiral to fit some of the lures for which it would seem to be correctly sized. If Mustad made a size 2.5 Fastach, that would probably be ideal for a lot of uses, but as it is, I would rate the size 2 as a 3.5/5.0-star product and the size 3 as a 4.5/5.0-star product. For bass fishing, I have not felt a need to tie on a size 4 but figured it was better to try several different sizes so I got the 2, 3, and 4. If you are using mostly medium-sized lures, get the size 3 and you should be happy.

Smaller than Orvis clips with finer wire.
The Orvis version is fine for larger hook eyes, but too large a gauge for smaller streamers and wooly buggers. These work well.

Missing Items
These are great clips for swapping out lures. They are secure and easy to use. Unfortunately, I paid for a package of 12 and only recieved 7.

Looks comparable to Rio Fly Clips
I ordered a set of size 0, which looks to be pretty similar in size to Rio Fly Clips in size 1 (their smallest). The finish on these looks slightly darker than the Rio's, which I like.I use these things for fly fishing with smaller streamers, bass poppers, gurglers, etc. I'll have to try the next size up for surf fishing (I use the Rio's in size 2).

My favorite quick connect / disconnect snap. Size 2 is the smallest size that connects easily
Been using these Fastach clips for the past 4 years and they work exceptionally well. Switching out lures is quick and easy and I have never lost a lure attached to this clip.I would recommend size 2 as the smallest Fastach size to use. Size 1 is a bit too small and that slows down connecting and disconnecting lures. Also the eye on some lures is too thick such that it's very difficult to attach the size 1 Fastach.

Fantastic for quick change
Used the size 0 clip with a swivel about 3ft above my bait to allow quick changes of my ice jigs/spoons while ice fishing. the clip alone works great but paired with a swivel was perfect to keep my jigs from spinning. Added bonus of using the clip is you don't have to worry about your knot slipping on the eye making it sit off level. These are also great in the larger sizes on kids setups so you can change out lures faster for them.
