LOVED this watch, but it is LOUD and not durable
UPDATE (August 18, 2019): Have to knock this down to 3 stars. 15 months after purchasing, the watch stopped working. I knew it wasn't the battery because the backlight still worked. Two different watch repair places confirmed it wasn't the battery, but they didn't know what was wrong. They were all reluctant to do anything and just told me to get a new watch, but I ultimately found someone in Chinatown Boston who opened it up and cleaned it for $20 and got it running again. I assume there must have been something lodged in there blocking the motion of the hands. A bit concerning that something would have gotten in there or broken off inside, but at least it works again.Original Review (April 23, 2018):It feels weird to give this 4 stars because I actually really love this watch. I'm a 5'3" female with a 14cm (5.5 inch) wrist, and I was looking to replace my Timex Ironman digital watch with something just a little classier. I wore my digital watch 24/7 before it died in a hot tub, and I felt naked and out of sorts in the few weeks I went before replacing it. I still don't understand how people can function without a watch. But I digress.I had several things I was looking for in a watch:I wanted an analog watch.I wanted something I'd be able to see if I woke up in the middle of the night, and I don't trust glow-in-the-dark paint to still be luminous at 4:30am.I wanted water resistance enough to shower with the watch on so I'd know if I was dawdling too long in the shower in the morning.I wanted the date displayed.I wanted a watch that wasn't teeny tiny like a lot of women's watches are but also not so big it would look ridiculous on my wrist (again...14cm wrist).I wanted to spend less than $100.It was a tricky search to find a watch that would meet all these requirements, and the Timex Expedition Scout Unisex was the only one that did. A previous reviewer mentioned that he didn't think women would enjoy this aesthetic, but I'm a tomboy, and as I was searching for a watch, I constantly found myself eyeing men's watches and wishing there was a women's version that had the same look because the men's ones would definitely be too big for my wrist. In comes the Timex Expedition Scout, with a unisex version that is the look I want and the size I want, and meets all of my requirements. I actually bought the Timex Women's Expedition Metal Field Mini Watch as well in order to compare the two because I was worried the Expedition Scout Unisex would still be too big on my wrist, but the the Mini didn't hold a candle to this one.So why 4 stars and not 5? As most other reviewers have pointed out, this thing is LOUD. I knew that when I bought it, which was another reason I bought the Mini at the same time. I wanted to see if I could live with the ticking noise, and if not, I would have kept the Mini and returned this one. Turns out I can live with the noise. It can be annoying in certain situations, but I found that if I use the last hole (smallest setting) on the watch band, the ticking sound gets muffled against my skin most of the time so I can't hear it anymore. Using the smaller size makes me more conscious of wearing a watch, which might be an issue for some people, but being someone who wears a watch 24/7, it was only a small adjustment for me. That being said, I couldn't give a 5-star rating because I felt like the noise was a HUGE drawback. I very nearly returned the watch because of the noise. The Mini doesn't have the same problem.Overall though, I feel pretty lucky to have found this watch, as it is the only one to meet all my requirements, and I really like the aesthetic of it as well. I enjoy the blue face on mine. The Indiglo is great, and I don't know why other watch manufacturers don't have anything like it until you get to some of the several hundred dollar Victorinox watches. So far I've only showered with the watch on twice, but I'll start showering with it every day once I exchange the leather strap for a nylon one. I really appreciate Timex making a Unisex version of this so that we ladies can have something nice too!

Close to perfect
Good:-solid build on watch.-nice bright backlight.-water resistant to 50m, don't worry about washing dishes etc.-seems to keep time well, calibrated off online clock after 1 week no difference even in seconds.-comfortable.Bad:-threads at the end of the strap alittle lose after week-no luminous hands, backlight somewhat makes up for this-depending upon position can be audible, found that strap under alittle tension eg. On wrist it becomes very quiet. Otherwise can be heard in a silent room.

very comfortable - The size is perfect for my small (6 ...
Pros- Accurate- Mineral crystal is so far very clear and scratch free, despite clinking against metal surfaces regularly at work- Very readable dial, especially with the indiglo function- The band is quite thick and durable, very comfortable- The size is perfect for my small (6 inch) wristCons- Indiglo does not light up the date cutout- A small crescent at the bottom does not light up when the indiglo function is being used - not enough to harm readability, but enough to be annoying- When adjusting the date, it cannot go backwards- The band is rather stiff out of the box, but it will break in with usage- The band will become slightly fuzzy at the end with usage- The second hand doesn't align well with all the second markers- The date window roll over doesn't align perfectly with midnight - it is still rolling over up to an hour after midnightOverall VerdictOverall, I find this to be a good watch for the price. It has all the functionality I need out of a work or beater watch and for an excellent price, but if you want to wear a watch as a piece of "functional jewelry", the fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired. I would recommend checking the Citizen BM8180 or the Hamilton Khaki Automatic if you want a similarly styled watch with better fit and finish.

Perfect.
Works perfectly. I am a woman in her 70s still wanting to look reasonably stylish while still being able to see her watch! I have a medium bone structure, average sized (10 to 12 clothing), with average sized wrists. Seemed a little large at first but I wear it every day now and just love it

A fine watch but with two slight issues to mention
This watch looks good and functions perfectly. Its short suit is that the hands are rather light colored and are a little hard to see in dim light. Also, I was used to a Timex Expedition with a plastic case and this watch, with its metal case, is almost twice as heavy. I find, however, that once it's on my wrist I really don't notice the weight. I can only hear it tick if I put it up to my ear, so I don't find it noisy at all as some other reviewers have mentioned. My last Timex lasted at least 15 years and maybe as long as 20 years with daily use. During that time it went through three batteries. I'll be satisfied if this new watch comes anywhere close to that. I've only had it a few weeks so there's no telling but I'm hopeful.

Exactly what I was looking for.
I bought this watch because I was looking for something small, durable and basic. I really love this watch. I have average seize wrists and hate extra big watches. This fits perfectly. The band it came with is supple and looks great, although I haven't had it long but I'm a little worried about the durability of the band. I've had mine for over a month and there isn't anything wrong with it yet but it doesn't seem like it's going to last forever. One thing that might annoy some people is the ticking is louder than I expected. Personally,I don't mind but it is noticeable. The indiglo is bright enough to see at night and the numbers are large enough to easily see. Overall, I love this watch. The quality I'm getting for the price I paid is incredible. I definitely recommend this.

Small strap size 18mm watch. Good quality.
I only wanted the actual watch for a 18mm strap as I have a bioflow magnet for wrist pain. Watch is excellent quality and very well made too.

Good deal
Got the watch yesterday before the scheduled delivery day. It’s a cheap watch. Your getting what you paid for and more in my opinion. It’s comfortable on the wrist. The Indiglo light works well and it keeps reasonable time. I was worried about reports that it was obnoxiously loud but I haven’t had an issue with that. I needed a new watch and it serves its purpose on a budget. Can’t complain about that.

Excelente reloj
