The best out there right now
As a person with licorice root practically running through my veins, it about killed me when I learned I had to go Gluten Free. Good stuff has come and gone, but recently after a void of finding nothing available for about a year, I find YumEarth Organic GF licorice and I'm sooo happy. First, it is almost exactly like I remember Licorice Nibs to taste like (which was our family's favorite). It's slightly cooling true licorice (not just bitter molasses), but a bit of sweetness and creaminess that I find in licorice. It's not as hard/waxy as Twizzlers, so if you like that plasticky feel, you're still out of luck. There is almost no grit or texture to the chew, and it's not sticky like some of the Scottie Dogs out there that taste good but I can't bite into them. These were fresh, so they weren't hard, but they definite have a lot of chew. I have had this brand from elsewhere and in the other flavors, and it does get harder when it's old, so if you want to save some for later, you could. So this is definitely on my keep repurchasing list. I think it's been at least 3 bags and I think that may not be enough.I would definitely get 3 bags of this and keep it in your stash because these companies in the past go out of business and you're stuck getting weird GF licorice that just makes you mad. So don't do that, order this stuff now and don't make yourself suffer just because you're GF and your food costs more.

Yummy & safe for many with food intolerances
Yummy! The bag could & should be bigger. The end comes too quickly. There aren’t many treats I can have anymore due to food intolerances but this is one of the few things I’ve always loved, licorice and this brand is free of all the ingredients that I can’t have so it’s a special treat. I’ve bought 3 bags so far and my 3 year old grandson saw me open the Amazon box today and was so excited when he saw the licorice that he went & got his scissors so we could open it and he could have some, before I got a chance to ask him! We love this licorice!

Great taste--a little goes a long way
This licorice has great taste! You only need 1 to 3 pieces to satisfy your yen for black licorice so this little bag goes a long way. I hope the palm oil Yum uses is sourced from sustainable, environmentally friendly farms that grow on already deforested land. I also like that it does not contain gelatin, so as a vegan, I can eat this because I very much like good black licorice. The only other point is that it was a bit hard, so I'm guessing the bag wasn't just made because the strawberry Yum licorice was softer. The price is a bit higher than I'd like to pay for this size bag, but considering the fact that one bag lasts so long, it's a decent price. Enjoy!

Very tasty and healthy.
I'm not a licorice person but I was getting a craving for it. Didn't want sugar or wheat. These were the healthiest version I could find, and they've really grown on me. Not too sweet, not too salty, could be a little chewier, but I'm happy with the nutritional value and taste of the product.

not the same animal
the yumEarth black licorice is just about the only brand i have been buying for 3 years. they are a good failsafe to not consume a lot of sugar. fresh bags are the best, of course, and they are really dense and solid. when too long on the shelves they harden up. that’s fine. i don’t need to chew them. but this bag, i figured it would be hard because of the price, and they kinda are but they break up when i chew them. the texture seems a little mealy, like they had been frozen.

Longest lasting Flavor
The Yum Earth black licorice is my favorite so far, with the Darrell Lea product in a close second. The Yum Earth wins for me because being a tougher texture (similar to beef jerky) you get the flavor longer as you chew and suck on it. The Darrell Lea is just a s good but being soft it becomes a chew and dissolves quicker. I'm ordering more of the Yum Earth! Side note: for dieters, the Yum Earth gives you 7 pieces for only 50 calories. Vegan, and gluten free.

Yum Earth? More like Yuck Earth -- but their lollipops are YUM!!!
Gosh, this is a terrible product and I just don't think they should bother. Yes, I was excited about an organic black licorice and gluten free even although that wasn't an issue. Add some gluten if it will make it better! It's so tough and plasticky -- hard to chew up and soften up into something tasty. The taste is okay although not very sweet which is probably okay but not the satisfying taste I want from my black licorice. It's mostly the texture that's so unappealing and the shape doesn't help because it doesn't break down and soften up very well. I like and appreciate this company and their organic lollipops are the best but please take this back to the test kitchen and make it more palatable and digestible. It really needs some help! That said, it's hard to find a really delicious black licorice out there!

This makes my heart happy
I thought my days of enjoying licorice were over. Due to Celiac and Crohn’s Disease I went totally gluten free a few years ago. As anyone else in my position knows, finding great tasting gluten free alternatives to favorite foods is excruciating. Hundreds of dollars are wasted trying out different brands of foods only to find the cardboard box they are packaged in is a more tasty option than the food itself. That is not the case with these!!!! DELICIOUS and exactly like real licorice! Flavor and texture are both the same as normal licorice. They aren’t super soft chews, but not rock candy either. I’m so happy I found these!! Now I want to try the other flavors.
