Zometool - DNA Kit

I bought this "toy" for my toddler but really my intention is for all kids to learn from it whenever they visit our designated toy room in the house. I have it hung from the ceiling (suspended by fishing wire) and everybody who sees it instantly recognizes what it is, and then of course it sparks conversation about what all the different colors represent. That in turn has forced my husband and I to make sure we know the proper vocabulary!The pieces were a little challenging to put together, but maybe because this was my first experience with a K'Nex set. The round pieces have *many* holes in them, and it took some trial and error figuring out which pieces go in which holes. But it all came together very nicely in the end.

This DNA kit helped with hands on visual of what DNA looks like. It helps for understanding of the components. The only thing I was disappointed in was the photo shows a full container and the container was really only half full of parts. My 13yr put it together without instructions in less than 15 minutes. He did say however that it was a good teaching tool.

Great for DNA Science assignment. Some of the pieces were a little hard to fit together.
