Great Skates For Beginners!
The media could not be loaded. I was hesitant to purchase skates online instead of going to a pro shop to get fitted, but I took a chance since it was the more affordable option for me. After extensive research and talking to my coach, I landed on the Jackson Mystique skates. These are great for beginners as I am a NEW skater and did not want to use rentals anymore. I measured my foot according to the directions listed. I stood with my back against a wall and used a piece of paper to mark where my foot ended, then measured. I did this several times for accuracy because I hate returning items and starting over. For reference, I am a size 8 1/2 (sneakers) and I ordered a size 8 skates. My foot measured just about 10inches, maybe a tiny bit over. The skates fit like a glove and are very comfortable. I decided to get them sharpened, but to be honest, I don't really think I had to right away; that would be up to you to decided. Additionally, the blades were aligned perfectly, so I lucked out. I've read a few stories about other sellers with misaligned blades which would cause issues with your knees, back, and overall, make skating more difficult. However, if you are concerned, I would recommend popping into a pro shop to see if they're aligned properly. So far, I've used them once and I must say, it's made skating a better experience for me. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.*I have on skate guards in the photo which I purchased separately*

Measure Length & Width for accurate sizing
MAKE SURE YOU MEASURE YOUR FEET BY LENGTH AND WIDTH!!!! I cannot stress this enough. These skates are C width (which does not mean "wide," there is a separate width chart associated with the width letters). You can find Jackson's full size charts along with walk throughs on how to measure both ways with a quick Google search. Measuring by length alone will NOT give you an accurate measurement!!! (Alternatively, you can have your feet professionally measured/fitted at a pro shop, which may be a better idea if you're unsure.)That being said, these skates fit PERFECTLY. I feel so much more support in them and am already skating 10x better. I am in Adult 3, but have been ice skating (for fun and without formal training) since I was very young. Also, MAKE SURE YOU GET THEM SHARPENED BEFORE USE. Skating on dull blades can be dangerous and these skates should definitely be sharpened before you go out on the ice.

Comfortable!
My 13 year old daughter has just started taking lessons. These are great skates for her level. We used the Jackson measuring guide from the Jackson website and they were a perfect fit. Her feet measured just shy of 10 inches in length which is a size 8. (She wears a size 9 sketchers tennis shoes). The skates appear to be well made, she says they are very comfortable.

Happy with my skates!
Very happy so far. I ordered the 7's first and they were too small (I take a 7.5 in shoes). I exchanged them for size 8 and they fit great. A bit stiff, but my feet were very comfortable in them.

Got sent the wrong size, but..
For the price, they look and feel good. However, I did receive the wrong size.Ordered a 8 but received a 9However it worked out to give my daughter room to grow in, and fit better than her actual size.

Did not disappoint
Having wider feet in general makes things difficult. So you could imagine my search in trying to find ice skates that fit! I bought these as an extreme beginner to practice with my daughter after her classes. I was not disappointed. I used the measuring guide and bought a size 8C. I normally wear between a 8.5/9W and these fit perfect. They have great ankle support, are easy to put on, and fit like a glove.

Comfortable but Extremely Stiff
I upgraded to the Mystiques after the JS 150 because of the lack in ankle support. These skates are amazing if you're looking for more ankle support. They do take a while to break in but the stiffness does provide extra support. The blade was sharpened, however due to the ice that I was skating on they are already dented. But that wasn't such a big deal because as a figure skater, I was eventually going to switch out to a shorter 8in blade rather than the 10 1/3 blade that it comes with. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable and if you are looking to do recreational skating this would be good for you and if you need an affordable boot as a figure skater with a little more support, this would be great for you as well.
