The sitting surface is real top grain leather. Just for this, it well worth the price. Go to office depot, you can't find top grain leather office chair at this price. Built quality is good enough. Assembly is easy. Comfortable chair.

The chair has good support and leather quality appears good. The seat is a bit hard and the chair is a little too high for me at its lowest setting (I'm 5'9").. The bracket connecting the back to the seat to the back had scratches as though the chair had been put together by someone else once before and it was a challenge getting the screws lined up and angled just right.

Outstanding quality and price. Italian leather instead of man made substitute.Had no problem assembling and love sitting on it; replaces another leather chairthat lasted over ten years without showing any signs of wear.

The chair looks and feels nice, but there are concerns:1. In the picture it looks like the arms are metal, they are not. The arms are plastic so be careful when using the arms.2. The back mount brackets were already scared from previous bolts, so the back piece appears to have been either used or refurbished.3. This is just my taste, but the arms are quite low compared to other chairs of the same type.If it truly is made of Italian top grain Leather (which doesn't seem likely considering the price), then it will last for many, many years. If it is not top grain, then I will know soon.Dropped one star because of the failing hydraulic cylinder. I have replaced this three times in the past 3 years. First one lasted the longest at over a year and then the two replacements didn't last 6 months. Had to add the permanent fix. See pics.

Leather is real, not Faux or leatherette. The chair is very comfortable and easy to assemble.

Not real leather. Cheap material, not worth any money. I have no idea how people can not see the difference between italian leather and this. Very disappointed.

The assemble of this chair takes a little bit effort, the instructions is not clear that you need to remove the screws and reuse them to attach the various parts to the frame, took a little time to figure out this.Quality -My expectation is high as this chair professed to be made of Italian leather, but I do not think this is true; chair has this plastic smell and feels ordinary.Sturdiness -Chair is sturdy enough and rollers work well.Comfort -I am 5 feet 9, the chair is too high for me and my desk, this chair feels like a lounge chair and not very good for sit up and do work, it is short on thigh support.Durability -Frame seems to be well built, materials are so, so. I cannot tell at this moment this will be a durable chair under daily use.Value -I think this is a $150 chair, anything more is too much.*** Follow upI decide to return it, it smells strong Formaldehyde, I can not stand it.

Seams as if the chair is genuine leather however all cuts are tucked in. Overall I'm very satisfied.
