2nd update: no problems with fit or lost cleats. don't remove from boots. work on icy rubber roof and sidewalks. love these
This review is an update to my initial report of these snow/ ice boot gripsSo far metal studs haven't fallen out and I put them on my size 7 winter boots and trekked on icy snow covered pathways plus on the porch roof that has a slope and becomes icy when snow falls from metal standing house roof that collects under eavesMust say so far greatI don't remove them outside for fear minus temps would rip rubberThey work well esp when I stomp onto thicker icy surfacesBuy them bc the price is right and they perform better than the more famous ones

Enough grip to help in snow and ice.
This product seems to work for what I intended, more security on snow and ice.I walk a small dog and found I needed more footing on bad weather days or in the yard and driveway.I still walk careful thoughTo apply I simply started at the toe stretched them on finishing with the small pull tab on the back.I ordered extra snow grips in case one came loose because at times the surfaces can be rough I walk on.I wear an 8.5 women's shoe and ordered Large. They arrived in a padded envelope earlier then promised.A note because of today's storm...Snow,ice freezing rain today in the Northeast, these kept me on my feet for clean up well worth the price!

Inexpensive and effective
I have to admit - when I purchased these "spikes" I really didn't expect them to last all that long. On first inspection the seams appeared weak and I was sure they wouldn't survive my first run - but I was wrong. I've used them about 10 times now and they're holding up nicely while providing much needed stability trail running through snow and ice. Sizing might be an issue. They seem to fit a little loose and unfortunately shift to one side while I run. However, this might be caused by my screwy stride and even positioned off center they still seem to do the job.. I wear size 10 1/2 trail running shoes and ordered a size large pair of the grips. They fit easily over running shoes - on/off is a snap even while wearing gloves Bottom line - if you're looking for an inexpensive pair of grips this product will to nicely.

They do help you not slip slide away however......
These over the shoe/boot traction cleat rubber spikes are great for wearing when you're clearing the driveway or salting the walkway but not exactly that great for running in. I purchased the correct size for each person. I put them on my sneakers and found them difficult to run in. I run in the woods and the brush, roots and twigs EASILY take off the grips. I had to stop and put them on again & again, bc they kept getting caught on brush, tree roots, etc. I recommend them for icy days going to the grocery store or shoveling the driveway, salting the walkway or walking the dog but I have to give a thumbs down for running in. Maybe it was my sneaker but I did try it on several different types of my running shoes and still had the same issue. They slip off and get caught on the slightest of things.

Good for flat land
These are great for walking icy flat areas. Not recommended in deeper snow because they fell off one time on me while walking a trail and I spent half an hour retracing my steps until I found them. Also I do not recommend them for hiking up mountains. I took these out hiking cascade mountain and they started stretching after the first ten minutes and kept falling off and the studs were falling out too. I will say though despite the problems I have had they are great in certain situations and go on and off real easy so they work great for walking on icy side walks or on frozen lakes for ice fishing. They are just not stable enough for deeper snow and climbing up mountains.

Not Really
Strap-on ice cleats, so important for safety. Really important. Over a million Americans are injured annually from slips and falls, more in the Winter, and some fatally. Several observations:1. Very thin elastic. I have a set of Yaktrax for comparison, and nowhere close. Durability remains to be seen, but just in robust build, doesn't appear to be made for longevity.2. Cleats fell off within a few steps, hence the replacement packet included. This is the most significant finding, because, well, safety. I can't imagine it would be possible to run safely in these, and walking requires substantial caution. The cleats are only held on by a shallow groove around the cleat that is secured only by a hole in the thin rubber of the sole. With any lateral force or torque, or just sliding your shoes, the cleat will absolutely fall out. Having even one cleat fall out of a set of ice cleats is unacceptable.3. Doesn't really cover the whole sole of your shoe, even properly sized. The heel portion is completely uncovered, and it requires some adjustment just to get the cleats centered. And centered, they elevated the shoe enough you actually rock on them.4. They are actually small for stated size, so if you get these you might want to get a size up.There are much better products to trust your traction to - the core problems with this product are not quality control issues, but basic design issues. As in all things safety, do not buy a cheap life jacket, cheap fire extinguisher, or cheap ice cleats. Cheap is not always a bargain. Tossing in extra cleats as replacements is like having a spare parachute ready for you on the ground, in case the first one doesn't open. On a scale of Unacceptable, Poor, Fair, Good and Excellent, these are Unacceptable, and in my opinion unsafe for their intended purpose. I have modified my rating based on additional use, and I do not recommend this product.

Very well worthwhile ice & snow grippers without the highway price robbery
Had to research this since a lot of my customers depend on their feet to go to work. We had a quite interesting winter so far so I thought about this and voila. Outerstar has exactly what I was looking for at reasonable prices. I am extremely impressed with what I saw and tried. So, I showed it to my customers and they were impressed. The price is very reasonable compared to the snow trax from yaktrax (very expensive online). Advanced orders placed and need to fulfill now. You have me as your loyal customer and hope to sell more in the future.
