Spot on 👍
Very happy with this drive enclosure - shipping was fast and the item is of good quality. No instructions on how to open the case which threw me for a minute, but then I realised the upper section just slides forward to open, as opposed to snapping on and off like I initially thought.Connected straight away to both my Samsung tablet and Mac Pro using a 2TB Netac SSD.Having two cables is good and while they're short, they're also really thick and feel totally secure when plugged in, unlike other SATA adaptors I've had.Speed (going to a USB 3.0 type A port on my Mac) is around 400mbs, which is more than ample for me, I'm using it purely for recording/streaming audio (WAV) files and to hold my Kontakt and Reaktor library. The fact that it doesn't put your drive to 'sleep' after 3 minutes inactivity like others was definitely an important factor for me too. 👌Formatting took all of 3 seconds, then it was good to go. Looks ace as well. Recommended. 🙂

Save your drive
An absolutely brilliant bit of kit. I swopped out my laptop HDD for a SSD and was just going to bin the old drive, which was still working but outdated, when I thought about reformatting it and using it as an external drive. A search of Amazon brought up the ELUTENG 25" perspex hard drive enclosure which encapsulates that old drive and, together with supplied USB C to C and USB C to A cables, provide a storage unit that I can swop between my 2009 MacBook Pro and my 2019 MacBook Air. It also means that in future I can purchase the less expensive internal SSD drives to use for mobile storage in a safe housing.

excellent performance, easy to use, cables reasonable length - great buy
works just as it said it would, popped in the hard drive and away you go. it's a little bendy on the top, but should be fine. also the cables are not crazy long which is good for me at least and come with a little velcro strap for easy wrap up. i decided to test the performance and its only SLIGHTLY slower over USBc for a SATA hard drive in the enclosure when compared to plugging directly into the laptop, which is to be expected but compared to some enclosures i have used which have sometimes halved or quartered, this is the smallest performance drop i can recall.i did have to make a slight revision to my review and drop it a star. sometimes, if you're copying large files like movies circa 10-15gb or so, the drive will suddenly disappear from windows (something that didnt happen when i was plugging the drive into the laptop direct). i don't think this is due to overheating as the drive still physically feels cool enough - just an annoyance when you've almost copied a file and need to start again but the price, i cannot complain.

Good value, easy to install, does the job
Does what it says on the tin (or rather the plastic case?). Easy to install, offers light protection though the SSD can rattle a tiny bit if you’re aggressive, so I 3D printed a thin ‘card’ with a funky pattern on it to make it a tighter fit - not really necessary for normal use though.Neat little drawstring bag and two cables supplied, a USB 3 to USB-C and a USB-C to USB-C, both of which work fine and seem sturdy enough to last a while.Transferred ~15GB of Xcode library files easily in under 5 mins using the supplied USB-C to USB-C from my MacBook Pro to a Kingston SSD. I also moved GarageBand over to my SSD, and it runs from the SSD perfectly fine over USB-C, saving me a ton (over 20GB) of precious space on my woeful 128GB internal drive.

Brilliant compact enclosure
I bought the USB C version to use as a removable Linux Mint boot drive and it seems to be working perfectly, booting off of it is no problem and read and write speeds seem pretty fast over USB C.The enclosure comes with a nice little carry bag, a USB C to USB C(3.1) cable and a USB C to USB A(3.0) cable. The enclosure opens by sliding the top half (with the eluteng logo) open, the SSD fits nicely inside with about with about 3mm of clearance above it. This does mean the SSD will flop up and down a bit if shaken, but I used the little SSD spacer that came with my SSD to fill that space (see pictures). The only downside would probably be the durability, as it is made from a thin hard plastic, any substantial drop would likely crack it. But through normal use, this shouldn't be a problem. Finally, I would recommend this as it works brilliantly and the price (£12.99 at time of writing) is awesome.

Works well - just not UAS compatible for use with Raspberry Pi 4B - must use 'quirks' mod
This SSD enclosure is great quality and all the accessories make it fantastic value for money.-1 star as unfortunately if used with a Raspberry Pi 4B - it's not UAS compatible, so to make it 100% safe to use you'll need to add ' usb-storage.quirks=2109:0715:u' to the start of /boot/cmdline.txt otherwise the drive will randomly disconnect or freeze your Raspberry Pi.
