The heart of every back pack is the carry system, and the Deuter ACT Lite 65+10's AirContact design provides support without rigidity. Plus, it has ventilation that keeps perspiration down a tested 15%.

State of the art
I am not Emily. She is my daughter. I am 61 and was raised in the foothills of and in the Rockies. I have backpacked since I was 11 and in the Boy Scouts. I have packed all over the American West and in Europe. I have usually had good packs, and when I set out to replace my ancient Kelty Redcloud I looked for Kelty first. Deuter kept popping up in my searches and eventually tempted me to try one. This pack is the best thing to happen to my packing experience since I went from a frame pack to an internal. The suspension is awesome. My back does not touch the pack; it touches only on the shoulders and hips and the air circulates well between me and the suspension. The methods of adjustment are so well thought out as to make anything else foolish. For example the adjusting straps on the hip belt are attached in such a way that tightening it is accomplished by pulling the free end FORWARD as opposed to the rearward motion required on others. This is more natural and therefore more efficient. I was a little apprehensive about this being an "ultralight" pack but it is built like a tank. I train with a three-day trip's worth of gear and the pack handles it all wonderfully. I like lots of exterior access and this pack has enough to make me happy. The hip belt pouch is waterproof and perfect for a phone or camera. This is a well made and designed piece of gear and I doubt if I will look at any other brand in the future.

I just used this bag for a backpacking trip through the Catskills in NY. I probably over packed - didn't even want to see how much my bag weighed, but I'd guess it was around 50. This bag wore it well, it felt steady, compact and snug to my body. There are plenty of options to adjust your straps to ensure that it's fitting comfortably. Even after 6 miles with 50 lbs on my back, my shoulders felt fine - the straps are very nicely padded and anatomically fitted. The main compartment is big - no frills, just a big ol sack to fit the bigger parts of your gear stash. The side water bottle pockets stretch quite a bit and the top compartment is roomy as well. I also used this with deuter hydration system, which worked perfectly. Would buy again.

Great pack and worth every penny
Fantastic backpack. I have used this now for almost a year. Hiking and working in rough mountains of Montana and Northern California. The material is extremely strong and durable, I have had 65lbs of tools, large pipe wrenches and hatchets and this thing took it. 65lbs puts a lot of stress on backpacks and other than needing a cleaning, this thing still looks brand new. Pleasantly surprised and happy with this purchase. The top 10 liters is a bit of a stretch for some things, but with the straps and pockets in other places you will find ways to pack this and fit more than most packs on the market. Dont be afraid of the price, this pack is worth every penny and will last. It has seen, rain, snow, 115 degree summer and been slammed down in said rain, snow and also mud. Good product.

Amazing pack
Awesome pack. Fit is great and held everything I needed for a multiday hike and camp. Plenty of fit adjustments to make it comfortable for just about anyone! I love the adjustability of the distance between the shoulders and hips. Makes for a PERFECT fit. Great price compared to other packs that offer the same or even less options.

I (still) love this bag!
I have not put this bag through it's real paces yet but it will be coming with us to the boundary waters this year. So far it has stood up to my torture tests with ease. What I love about it already is this:light-weightthought out wellgood rigid supportadjusts very easilynice gap between your back and the bag (omg it's so nice)weight is distributed like a champ. I have put 135 pounds (yes seriously) on this bag and it carried amazingly.waist belt and shoulder straps are cushioned and comfortablesway straps to keep the pack from flopping regardless how full it isWhat I wish it had:A place to fasten a sleeping bag/mat and tent to the outsideThat's pretty much it. I think I am going to roll the sleeping bag to approximately the same size as the tent and fasten them to the sides vertically. After we get back from abusing this pack I'll write a follow up review. I kinda wish I had purchased 2 or 3 of these.EDIT:I feel bad for forgetting to re-review this. OK, so after now two trips to the boundary waters (one week each trip) this bag shows zero signs of wear. We the fabric has held up wonderfully. There are no frayed strings or loose stitching. This is the bag I carry and has all the kettle/kit stuff so it is holding a lot of weight. It also sits low enough so I can still carry the canoe without it getting in the way and pushing the canoe forward or backwards while portaging. The last trip we took (2017) this bag weighed in at ~60 lbs. and carried well through every portage. I didn't have to re-adjust straps or move items around in the pack for comfort. Considering there is some cast iron in there, not getting poked in the back was really nice.Washing was pretty simple. Just took a garden hose sprayer at it and done. I REALLY wish there was a better way to put anything on the outside of this bag. A few more sturdy loops or a couple built in straps that are made for a tent/sleeping roll would be awesome.

Took this gem to Yosemite with me. I absolutely love it. It did so well holding my 40lb(not my intent to carry that much weight, but sometimes others in the group bite off more than they can chew...oh well) on the 4 day hiking trip I did. About to take it on my two week European trip. I highly recommend this. Can't beat it for the price also.

Sad it’s been discontinued, has been a great pack so far.
Finding the right long-distance backpack isn’t as simple as going to an outdoors shop and vomiting money at the cashier. Like shoes, fit is everything. Also like shoes, you pay for what you get, and should really be tried on and fitted before purchasing online. This is a fairly phenomenal balance of comfort, versus functionality, versus value. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued. The construction is sound and resilient. The functions are versatile, yet sleek and not over-complicated. The load balancing is superb (for me, if loaded properly), and during long-term use it is easy on the body. Definitely a solid purchase, if you can find it.

小6の息子のために購入。身長163cmあたりだが、サイズ的には普通に使えてる。各所に配置されたベルトなど使い勝手がいい。長い付き合いになるんだろう。
