Inexpensive, high level, valuable coaching - This book was an unexpected pleasure
This is a quick read. The book is designed as a guide to aid in sorting through all of the considerations when you have to produce immediately with a new team that may have to turn the corner and head a new direction. This book makes you think. I would suggest that this is high level guidance and coaching for an incredibly inexpensive cost. I recently went through multiple interviews to get to the final stage of producing a written 90-day plan before being confirmed as the new hire for the position. I had never codified my thinking in a written plan for previous transitions. The organization of thoughts in this book helped immensely in doing so and the guidance here, combined with my preliminary communications with the staff and my strategy helped create a winning combination that garnered comments on the impressiveness of the plan. I recommend the book to help craft your plan for your early days in a new position and for its other intended purpose, to help you craft your plan before and for acquiring the new position.

Concise, practical, and super insightful
I read this from the perspective of a consultant researching best practices related to leadership onboarding. It's an extremely tight and pleasant read, full of practical insights. The concepts make a ton of sense and mesh well with other research, yet with some unique perspectives and recommendations. What's particularly important about this book, I think, is that it presents an approach that has been used successfully with hundreds of new executives. It's very hands-on, nuts and bolts, with brief stories and cautions that are memorable and insightful. The templates included are--at a minimum--great thought provokers and starting points. It feels very relevant and up-to-date, with recent data and examples reflecting changing technology and times--hence this new edition. By the way, it appears that Amazon does not carry reviews from prior editions forward, which is why the total number of reviews for this book looks pretty sparse. I'd recommend checking out reviews of the prior editions for a fuller picture of the total impact and reader responses. The author is a super-active contributing business writer and blogger, clearly well-known and respected.

This book is a great resource for anyone moving into a challenging leadership role
This book is a great resource for anyone moving into a challenging leadership role, bringing up the old adage “you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression”. Getting off to a good start quickly is critical and this book will help you do that, starting with the interview and getting the right job offer through the first 100 days and beyond. It offers very a pragmatic approach to assess the political and cultural landscape to identify land mines and focuses on the importance of creating the burning imperative quickly to drive and inspire teams. There are many excellent examples that illustrate the author’s points and tools to help build your plan and put it into action. Overall, this is an invaluable guide to help you succeed and make a big impact from the “get-go."

This a must read for anyone who is making a career transition in a leadership role
The advice in this book and the web materials, are direct, easy to understand, adaptable to multiple industries and completely on target. During the interview process I got all kinds of feedback about how well I was answering questions. In once case an interviewer told me he had never heard such a good answer. The question was what would you first 100 days look like on the job! I had over 30 interviewers in a two day period for this position. I am now negotiating my contract and planning my first 100 days with confidence and excitement. I am so grateful this book was suggested to me and I recommend it to you.

New to Leadership?
Don't be a fool. Be prepared for your first 100 days BEFORE... NOT AFTER. Good read.

A very valuable resource to set a person up for success
Excellent resource to the transitioning, or first time executive. Many practical and impactful tips to set a person up for success in the new role. I personally read this book 3 times before starting the new job as an exec. I implemented as many of the recommendations as possible and my first 45 days in the job have been tremendously successful because of the preparations this book laid out in advance!Like anything in life, if you follow the path, you will get to the intended destination!

Okay but the book complicates a pretty simple action plan template.
I found the book a bit boring and like a lot of management books, they have a simple idea and need to fill a few hundred pages to get you to spend money on it, so they over complicate the descriptions of the steps. Then, any useful template or tool needs to be downloaded from the web, which isnt actually so bad, but I didnt know that when I took the book with me on a plane trip and couldn't really get my 100 day plan started. The actual action plan guidance is okay, I was hoping for something a lot more actionable, this is basically what you get: Meet people, get some early wins, keep going.

George B. Bradt, of PrimeGenesis, is worth ...
George B. Bradt, of PrimeGenesis, is worth following on Forbes for his practical advice, which is outlined in The New Leaders 100-Day Action Plan. This generously shared work has not only accelerated the onboarding process for many high performing leaders, it has also contributed to and helped launch the executive coaching practice for many who utilize this valuable template as the gold standard for an accelerated onboarding practice. I have purchased and gifted quite a few of these already and will no doubt be gifting more as time goes by!

Worth a read
Most applicable for those making a move in a corporate context but the basic approach will work in other settings. Lots of tools and frameworks which the reader can dip into based on their specific situation which is really helpful ... and the emphasis on getting into action rather than mulling over theory is useful

Heavy handed, would probably work well for corporate setting.
Might work well in a corporate setting, but is heavy-handed for startup scenarios. Too political for my liking.

Hits the most important piece to a smooth introduction - CARE!
I've read a number of 'first 90 day' books to find the one that bears recommendation. This is it! It covers much of the typical content quite well but captures the most important 'fuzzy front end' when your #1 goal is to build relationships and trust in those first few weeks. Highly recommend it for anyone moving in to a position with leadership responsibilities!

Very bland..
Nothing new here. Very generic stuff and not a good read. Stick with The first 90 days if you want good advice.

Básico al entrar a una nueva empresa en puesto Directivo
Me gusto! Pero no hay parte de métricos ni de behavior es más de impacto
