I still watch DVDs!
So glad I found this television with a built in DVD. It's really hard to find one larger than 32 inches. This 40" is perfect for me. I think they also make a 50". I'm glad I can still find a larger TV with a built in DVD. I have a ton of old DVDs. And I just pop it in. The whole search through all of my streaming services or looking on-line to figure out which streaming service. Also streaming is very abstract. I like how tangible and easy to load DVDs are.

Sometimes you get what you pay for!
I bought this TV Oct. 2020. I only installed in RV a couple of months ago. Right off, pixel problem! Then, I put a DVD in & it ate it!! It wouldn't play & wouldn't let me have it back! Really, I mean seriously... things like that shouldn't happen on a new product. Of course "the window of return" is closed now!! Convenient huh?

Great TV - built in DVD convenient for wall mount, no trailing cables or need for a shelf
We love this TV! We wall-mounted it easily with Amazon Basics Heavy Duty wall mount for 22-50" TVs. The built-in DVD player was super convenient in a wall mount configuration and is what drew us initially to this model. It works well. No complaints about color and sound. This is the second unit we have bought, and may buy a third.

DISAPPOINTED
My wife wanted a kitchen countertop 19" TV/DVD combo to replace one which had served us well since 2007. I chose poorly for her with this one.1. This is listed as an RCA TV. Having grown up in the 1950s, I remembered RCA TVs as excellent products and was willing to pay more for a familiar reliable brand. Unfortunately, it was not until I looked at the fine print in the owner's manual that I discovered that this is NOT an RCA device. You will not find it listed on the RCA website as one of their items. It was built by "Curtis International Ltd." Curtis merely paid RCA for a license to use the RCA name on a Curtis product. It will be Curtis who will address any warranty claims, not RCA. Had I known that it was not really an RCA but an obscure brand I had never heard of, I would not have pulled the trigger on this purchase.2. I am not an audiophile, and I was not particularly troubled by the reviews suggesting that the sound was bad. I mean, after all, how bad could the sound be? Pretty bad, actually. Tin-can-on-a-string bad both with respect to clarity and volume. In fact, the worse I have ever heard on an electronic device. I had to order a separate external soundbar from another company in order to get acceptable audio from this TV, a step which sort of negates any saving of space by not getting a separate DVD player.3. Color and picture. Mediocre at best. I've seen better from other cheap TVs, but it is at least marginally acceptable.4. There is only one HDMI socket, so chose wisely if you need to put multiple inputs into the set.5. Cost. At $199.99, plus tax and purchasing a separate sound bar, this purchase was far north of 200 bucks. As I said previously, I was sucker-played by the "RCA" on the label. There are other 19" TVs out there who do not obfuscate about who made them and who also have lousy sound and mediocre pictures. However, they sell for half the price of this one.6. In its defense, it is very compact and lightweight (or perhaps "flimsy" might also be an appropriate descriptive term). It has also so far successfully played DVDs which were rejected by its predecessor in our kitchen. In short, it was not so bad that I felt compelled to try to return it, but I would never buy another one again.UPDATE ON 4/29/2021: Since submitting the above review a few days ago, the TV image now is spontaneously and suddenly shifting from a normal color (at least normal by its standards) to one yielding highly purple skin tones. It requires a lot of tuning to try to get it back--a process which is complicated by the fact that the window which opens up for the adjustment of the picture takes up a huge area of the screen, so that you have difficulty seeing how what you are doing is actually affecting the picture. I am afraid that I have to knock this rating down from two stars to one. Of course, the 30-day return period has expired.UPDATE ON 4/16/2022: It has stopped color shifting for awhile, and it is possible that a loose connection could have contributed to the problem. It is also at least working after a year. I will therefore boost it back up to a two-star rating, but I am still not pleased with the sound quality and price.UPDATE ON 7/10/2023: It still has had no color-shifting problem for quite a while and is still working. I will now boost it to three stars for longevity and reliability but it nonetheless was expensive and has poor sound quality.

RCA DVD/TV IS COMPLETE JUNK!
I needed a TV for my garage gym and my five year old TV/DVD unit that I got from Best Buy finally stopped working so I gave this RCA a try. After four months the DVD player stopped working and my DVD is still stuck inside. The same DVD that worked the day before in that very TV/DVD. I contacted the seller Fast Market Pro and there was no reply so they are already Slow not Fast. I tried again a few weeks later and they said that they only take back products within the first 30 days and that I am stuck calling RCA for warranty service. So, whether fair or not, I feel the seller left me hanging with no customer service and no concern for the product failure. When it was working, the picture was okay but as soon as you go off axis at all the screen goes black so you need to be head on. The play all episodes feature never seemed to work right and you had to start each episode independently which was a bother but I blamed that on the DVD set until the who TV/DVD crashed and now I just think the unit is complete junk. This TV/DVD combo has no value at really any price.

Remote sucks
The TV/DVD itself is great. Easy to work. BUT!!!!! The remote doesn't work. I have put in 3 sets of batteries and it still does 't work. And trying to get a new one...I swear they want my first born! All I want is a remote that works!!
