A Visit at Monet's Home
I am an artist, a cook & a Monet fan & was quite pleased with this lovely biographical cookbook. The photos accompanying the information about the family & household were especially nice. The methods of running the household to create a pleasant family environment yet provide a wealth of vignettes sparking artistic creativity was especially appealing to me. The garden, even while being planted was already being mentally designated for an art piece. The best part was about the way Monet lived his life & his devotion to his family & art. And we are the one's who get to enjoy his garden yet today through his masterpiece paintings. The book will be placed in my kitchen, to refer to for great old recipes as well as handy to read again & again. I appreciate Monet even more after reading this book.

Good Read
Pretty interesting read for a Monet lover like me. I may try the pistachio cake which he loved. All the info about life at Giverny is super interesting.

It’s almost like having lunch with the Master.
We had recently visited Monets house in Givernay, France and the kitchen photos made us feel like we had returned. There were some wonderful recipes but most importantly was the opportunity to get a peek into his everyday life.

Amazing book rich with details about Monet's life and "domestic" ...
Amazing book rich with details about Monet's life and "domestic" habits. Filled with delicious (I have been testing!) recipes that are as dreamy as they are "light." The cakes and most desserts are wonderfully concocted with eggs, almond meal and relatively tiny amounts of flour and sugar! Beautiful to browse and fun to use as a cookbook. Highly recommended!

Love Monet's table
The photos are wonderful, have not tried the recipes but certainly a few things would be very hard to obtain. That is unimportant to me.The copy I purchased is signed by the grandson but we have yet to determine what his brief note in the front open pages means.A lovely purchase

Charming book
When the book arrived it did not look like the book pictured opposite, however provides a delightful trip through Monet's life, living at Giverney and his love of cooking for all to follow. Lovely illustrations, charming quotes from many different people from different walks of life and recipes which will be fun to try. The book is second hand, but in very good condition. The first page had an ink pen handwritten note (which had been covered up by white sticky lables) which just added to it's authenticity. A delight!
