I used these as my measurement standards when reviewing 2 sets of Bolight digital calipers from here on Amazon (Excellent Calipers. See my review for more information). These pins will be used for general shop work where .001 accuracy is my end goal. Based on my test measurements with the new calipers mentioned above, an existing set of igaging absolute origin calipers, a 1" digital micrometer, and a 1" mechanical micrometer...these things are dead on when measured to .001 inch. I could occasionally get a +/- of .0005 across my results, but more often read perfect to 4 decimals or better with my digital micrometer. Note: These items are temperature sensitive, and after setting outside my door read consistently .001 under for every pin. After setting in a warm house with the lid open for a couple of hours, all measurements were as near to perfect as I could ask for. In the event that you are still developing an eye for small measurements, you will have likely seen the one-thousandth of an inch or "one-thou" for short (.001) phrase tossed around a lot. Until I held a piece of .001 feeler gauge, I didn't really have an appreciation to how small that really is. A post-it note is .004". Human hair is as small as .002. So...if you can settle to be accurate to the size of 1/2 of the thickness of fine baby hair, then these pins will work for you. There are sets out there that may be more accurate, but most people honestly don't work within those tolerances. Those that do are skilled to a level that I will not reach and my hats off to them. Save your money on these, and you get to buy more tools. In closing, I did buy these pins...none of that free stuff for a review here.

Nice set of precision pins. These are good machinists use or basic QA use quality pins. A pretty good value for the money.

Great product for measuring spring back on rifle cartridges (rifle neck's)....I got the complete set of these for less than I can buy a set of 7 mandrals from the reloading guy'sThis set covers all calibers except .22 & .243....The nicest part of all is with this set you can pick the exact size neck turning mandrel/expander you need...This way you don't get $117.00 of 5-7 extra Mandral's you can't use.....and that still don't cover the other calibers you have invested your time an treasure intoThere are many uses for this set and it's perfect +10 for what was designed for in my case it's going to save me a ton of money and lots of agravation.

Years ago when I was operating on a shoestring I would drive oversized castings through the throats of my revolver cylinders to figure out what diameter sizer dies to order. This pin gauge set takes all the work out of the process and minimizes the potential for damage as well.

The box this comes in does not deal well with jostling - when it arrived, there were at least a dozen leads out of place and rolling around in the case. I was forced to measure each lead with a micrometer to ensure that they were being put back in the correct holes.Instead of a foam or another effective way to contain the leads in the case, the set comes only with a sheet of oily paper that does not even cover the full extent of the array.One of the main reasons I purchased this set was that each lead was labelled for quick reference - but knowing that I can't trust them to stay in place when moving about, I now have to also bring a micrometer everywhere I take them to ensure that I am using the right lead to measure each time. This defeats half the purpose of the kit.Taking two stars off of the "accuracy" rating. It doesn't matter if the lead is the right size if the label is incorrect. Also taking two stars off the "value for money" rating, as I now have to spend money and take the time to make the case suitable for purpose.

I spot-checked about a dozen of these pins, from all over the box. All measured as indicated. Each pin is marked with its size. Each pin's spot in the nice sturdy fitted case is also marked for the size it contains. The case cover keeps the pins in their holes when it's closed. Seems to me to be a good value for what it cost. Other Chinese sets can cost double what this cost, a Starrett is 10 times as much. All the pins are well oiled; no rust. Based on what I received, I'd recommend this set. I generally prefer to buy American/Starrett whenever possible, but for my hobby machine shop needs, this is adequate. If you're a production shop or very demanding needs, this may not be good enough, but for me, the pins measured exactly what they were marked, within spec. No certification was supplied with the set, but for the price, you can't seriously expect one.

Superb accuracy. I didn't check them all but found those that I did check all well within tolerence. Also this set was very well packaged.

Been looking for a good set of these that didn’t break the bank, these fit the bill nicely.They come in a good quality plastic box, that has withstood the usual workshop mishaps really well. Can recommend these as a great addition to any hobby or semi professional workshop.

Box was not damaged all pins were there.There is a .002" tolerance on the pins and all the pins every single one was .002" small
