Get what you pay for: Long burning, favorite scent, seems to have some effect on insects (depending)
These are more expensive than others I've purchased, but they burn longer, the scent is my fave, and they seem to be somewhat effective against insects if you use a bunch of them in close range. Used this way, they seem to be as effective as Citronella candles, but give a much better vibe than candles or torches.ASH: Like all incense, they will drop fine ash as they burn down so don't place them where the ash might drop on something that might stain. If you do get ash on fabric, I recommend vacuuming it off. Brushing it will inevitably smudge some of the fine powder into the fabric.BUGS: These may reduce some of the mosquitoes, but using them outdoors you really cannot control where the smoke will go with even the slightest breeze. I light 4-6 of them within a 10' diameter (or less) around the hot tub or patio area where we plan to spend our time. This way, as wind changes direction you are always downwind from a couple sticks. Just stick them in the lawn or flower beds after lighting them. The ambience is really great and I use them even if I do not need to keep mosquitoes at bay.SCENT: The scent on these has been much more pleasant than other sticks I have purchased (like sandalwood and jasmine). These definitely have a sandalwood scent overlaid with the Citronella which gives a lemony addition to the aroma. Of various scents, this is hands down my favorite and the bonus is the action of reducing biting insects. Of course scent preference is personal, but my family and friends also agree that these are better than the others I have used. Maybe you will agree too.

Decent, not the best, not the worst
I've been burning various types of incense (including crafting my own) for years now. A few months ago, I wanted to find a solution that would work well outside - to keep mosquitos away. This brand was the first I tried to solve that problem. These incense do work for this purpose. If you're camping out, or working outside, these incense will reduce the number of bug bites you receive. The only unfortunate part is that these incense will not work well in windy conditions, especially if you're upwind of the burner. That said, I'm fairly happy with the incense. There are a few downfalls to this product:1) Sticks vary in size. A review mentioned this earlier..some are big, some are small...so they have very different burn times depending on what you got.2) These are cheap, which is a good thing to a degree, but starting the incense and keeping them going can be a bit more of a challenge. I found the best way to do it is light more than the end..say close to an inch down. Let it stay lit until you see the tip glow red, then blow it out. This is considerably different than normal incense I use where you can light and blow it out and not have any dead sticks. That said...3) Some sticks will continue to have a hard time staying lit. Luckily, out of two boxes used (40 total), I've only had an issue with 1 so far that I couldn't really keep lit for the entire burn time. Not horrible, but still.I do recommend these incense mostly because they are cheap, and there's little else out there that works as well as these. I find these incense work better than the citronella candles you can buy in the store. Some people here recommended the option to burn them inside. I strongly recommend not doing that, unless you have an issue with mosquitos inside. For one it's incredibly potent, and second given how cheap it is, my feeling is the chemicals to keep the incense bonded to the stick aren't exactly good for you. Outside, these are fine and are worth trying out.One thing I would like to note. If you take these camping (like I do), you can either light it, blow it out then stick the incense in the ground or use a burner. Personally I'm fond of a burner, so I know where the sticks are at and I don't pollute the environment. I, personally, use tiny containers filled with sand. The cap allows me to put this into a camping pack, and the sand keeps the sticks standing firm. The containers I use are simple plastic containers that you can get at walmart. I forget the brand, but it's not terribly important...small plastic containers with a tight fitting lid and sand will work fine, regardless of the brand or type. Just make sure the base of the plastic container is big enough not to tip over during use.

Works for keeping bugs away!
This incense is a great option for keeping bugs away. I usually light 2-4 depending on how many mosquitoes are around. It doesn't keep every single one away but it works better than citronella candles or tiki torches. The smell isn't very appeling to me however, since they are outside its not overpowering. If you'd rather deal with some scented smoke wafting around outside than blood sucking disease infested mosquitoes, this is awesome!

Nice scent, fast burn
Slender incense sticks that have a high scent and very fast burn. We burn two at a time on the patio - seems to keep insects at bay, though doesn’t last long beyond the burn. Sticks burn out in about 8 - 10 minutes.

Duration...
Everything about them is perfect and great except the fact that it's gone in 10 to 15 minutes not 30 to 45.

Nice Scent but Dont last long
Very nice scent but don't work if I use just one stick.I sit outside in the evening when the bugs and mosquitoes come out,I need to use 4 or more sticks to keep the bugs away. They only last about an hour and have to be replaced.
