1 X Midori Traveler's Notebook Repair Kit

This extremely optional/whimsical unless you have broken the elastic or lost the brass piece on your Midori Traveler's Notebook. Of course, I recommend it highly because it is also great fun to "dress up" your Midori with different colors.If you dont have the Refill 006, I recommend it also - that's a plastic pocket that adheres to the inside front or back leather cover of a Midori Traveler's Notebook. I chose the inside front cover. I find it very useful for business cards or small paper items and receipts I pickup during the day. You should also consider the zipper pocket Refill 008 insert as well. I have both and enjoy them very much.If you haven't tried the Midori Travelers Notebook and have happened on this review by chance, than I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone who wants to try the journal system of nurturing your creativity by collecting thoughts, sketching ideas, and navigating the day with occasional pauses.I purchased my Midori Traveler's Notebook (a little larger than 4 x 8") because it fits my back pocket perfectly and provides 8" of writing/journaling surface versus the more common 3"x5" or 4"x6" size pocket notebooks.A journal is much more than a book of lists or actions - computers, tablets, or smartphones are much better at reminding you of the Things You Must Do. The Midori TN is simple leather and a promise - a promise that you make to yourself and enjoy each time you pull it out and apply ink to paper to work through the events or thoughts of the day or the fleeting impulse or idea that with a little ink and time, grows into exactly what you want. If you match a Midori TN with a Pilot Fermo you are definitely indulging yourself, quite outrageously, and I think you should <smile>.

This handy kit is a must have for anyone with a Midori Traveler's Notebook; this kit works with either the regular notebook or the Passport size. Included are four elastic bands and a fastener. Midori noteboooks use two of these bands - one goes through the center and holds in your inserts (notebooks, pouches, etc.), and the other one wraps around the outside of your notebook to keep everything in place. These bands can be used to replace either of those two if they break or become too loose.The metal fastener is for the inner band. An elastic band loops through several holes in the leather Midori cover and holds in all of the inserts; the metal fastener clamps the band shut. In order to do so, you need to crimp it shut with pliers or a hammer. I have not yet had to replace my bands, but it looks fairly straight-forward to do so. Although this kit is a bit pricey considering that it's just elastic bands and a metal clamp, it it worth knowing that I can repair my Midori at any time.

Yes, the bands are expensive. But they are sturdy and add a pop of color to my new handmade Midori.

Although I do own 2 Midori Traveler Notebooks, I mainly bought this "Repair Kit" for my own crafting projects: It is very easy to make a "Faux-Dori" yourself, but there are no better elastics than the originals.
