Very good soybean and sproutable。
These beans are sprouting very well and in very high yield. I have brought more expensive new crop soybeans but the sprouting rate was % 20. This bean purchasing was stated 2017 crop but sprouting rate was %80. The beans are smaller in size but more nutty flavor in it. I made soybean mushroom soup, roasted soybeans and soy sauce soybean which are all very popular side dish in Shanghai. 5/8/2019 I have ordered again second time after I finished first order and it is sproutable with %100 yielded. It is very delicious after I cooked them and the sproutabl is the best selling point to me as Soybean sprouts is major part of my daily diet.

Great deal on soybeans!
I bought these a few months ago and have been using them every since, as part of my seitan dough, to eat cooked but plain, for tempeh, to make soymilk and soy yogurt and soy cheeses. A little goes such a long way because they expand so much. Yes, there are a few tiny twigs and they need to be rinsed a couple of times, but that's a minor inconvenience in exchange for the excellent price and overall quality.

adequate product but needs more cleaning and less debris.

Tasty Tofu
Great product and value. A little bit of soy bean hulls and corn kernels were mixed in, but that's to be expected with non-GMO farm products. It made excellent, tasty tofu and soy milk. I plan on planting a few because of the quality.

These are genetically-modified beans and probably contain significant residue of Roundup.
Although my order was received in a timely manner, and the beans were fresh and good-looking, I will not order them again upon learning that they are not non-GMO. This is important. They almost certainly are Montsano Roundup-resistant genetically modified beans, as this bean is by far the most common soybean crop in the USA. Why is this important? The following quote is from the abstract of a 2013 scientific paper from Norway comparing genetically modified (GM) beans with organically grown ones. All beans tested were from Iowa:"Organic soybeans showed the healthiest nutritional profile with more sugars, such as glu-cose, fructose, sucrose and maltose, significantly more total protein, zinc and less fibre than bothconventional and GM-soy. Organic soybeans also contained less total saturated fat and total omega-6fatty acids than both conventional and GM-soy. GM-soy contained high residues of glyphosate and AMPA(mean 3.3 and 5.7 mg/kg, respectively). Conventional and organic soybean batches contained none ofthese agrochemicals. " T. Bøhn et al./Food Chemistry 153 (2014) 207–215. Glyphosate is the chemical name for the toxic herbicide Roundup, and AMPA is its major metabolite.Just thought people ought to know.....

2016 crop shipped in January 2018
Straight out of the bins, harvesting debris and dust and small dark ones included. Plan on washing and sorting them, but otherwise they make soymilk fine. The 2-star rating is actually more for the fact that the Amazon description says 2017 crop but the receipt said 2016 crop. The 2016 seems correct given the very dry nature of these beans. Note that soybeans are running $10/bushel right out of the bins on the farm. So you are paying most of this money for having someone get it from the bin to you in a 25-lb lot, not for sorting and cleaning. That would be OK if they were fresher.

Not the best bean you can get.
It is good for making soybean milk and pudding. Not too good for sprouts .
