Wilkinson Sword Anvil Pruner Aluminium

This pruner lacks the precision needed to cut thin green stems - it doesn't fully close. It's 'adequate' for the prie, but not a great tool.

They are easy to use but considering only one side is a blade, it doesn’t always cut a stem cleanly.

Copes easily with holly and brambles without significant wear. The blade is good quality SK5 steel. The anvil is plastic, not as shown, but there have been no problems. All an anvil needs is to be softer than the blade, so while a brass or aluminium part would have looked nicer, at this price plastic is acceptable and isn't showing any damage so far. Very good value for money

Bought these as wanted the rachet action on them to ease the wear and tear of hands. Don't notice hardly any help with cutting anything thicker than a bramble. But worst thing a out them is that 9/10 when you cut down with them the red closing clip shuts, obviously locking the cutters closed. Lots of swearing goes on when I use them. Suggest buying a more sensible design... Which isn't this.

I like this pruner very much, seems sharp, strong and easy to hold. I have knocked one star off as the solder which fixes the end of the spring down has broken, It does not seem to have affected the function of the pruner though.

Excellent pruner nice and sharp - works well. A wee bit smaller than I expected.
