Banks 25975 Techni-Cooler Intercooler system

I bought this for my 2005 F350 6.0L. I have a full Bulletproof kit, Banks exhaust and SCT tuner. This was the last performance upgrade for my truck. The install went smoothly until it was time to remove the stock intercooler. Having the Bulletproof oil cooler in between the intercooler and the AC condenser did not allow enough room for the inlet of the intercooler to clear the AC hoses. The Bulletproof oil cooler had to be removed. This created a few problem with clearances while trying to remove the oil hoses, but it was overcome. Other than this the install was pretty straight forward. So far I don't notice any real MPG gains, but I do see some reduced EGTs.

I own a 2006 Superduty F-350 with the 6.0 diesel. I have added a programmer, intake, straight pipe 4 inch exhaust, 8inch lift, gears to match the 38inch tires, etc. my point in mentioning this is that the motor makes more boost than it did originally from the factory. The stock inter-cooler had plastic tanks on each side and aluminum fins in the middle. The plastic cracked and a chunk of plastic blew out the side of one of the side tanks, which left the truck with no boost(naturally this occured while pulling my toyhauler to go on vacation, ending the vacation before it started). The Banks techni-cooler has aluminum side tanks and a solid welded construction that will not break like the cheap factory parts did. The techni-cooler is also larger and flows a lot more air, and cools the air more as well. My egt's decreased across the entire rpm range, proving that it cools the incoming air charge much more than the factory cooler did. This is a great product that will improve your trucks performance(more air moved with less restrictions at the elbow and tubing), and durability and longevity(by decreasing egts and not failing on the road). This is a fairly tight fit, but if you take your time and reroute a few lines carefully it all fits well. I would definitly recommend this product to my friends.

I decided to replace my stock intercooler because I didn’t want to have it rupture on me on a long trip-my truck hauls a Four Wheel Camper, and I often go to remote areas. . The install, although a bit time consuming (~5 hrs) went well-fit and finish are great. If I did the job again it would probably take about 1/2 the time. I do notice a small power boost, but most importantly my EGT’s are lower overall, but mostly under load. It’s not summer yet, but on long uphills, I’m about 200 degrees cooler. My truck is “bulletproofed” and running a tow tune. Going over the Grapevine a few days ago, I never broke 1,000 degrees.

This is by far one of the best value for the dollar you can buy for a 6.0l. The install is easy. The cooler is much thicker. My truck is happy. I also have the bullet proof oil kit and this fits in easy no issues at all. Buy it you won't regret it.

When the box (hug) arrived, me very excite !! and open it and impressed me !Warring .. it only for who do good with handyman and good mental. Because the manual book is fair and some are not clear. Wish more pictures but I made it all way. If you have very good patience then bless you.The install took me 11 hours to do but worth it. Must have that tool is "Panel Clip plier" http://www.harborfreight.com/panel-clip-pliers-67399.html because there have many of "Body Retainer" so need that.After install everything is GREAT !! Feel more stronger and tough also really good fit in. I did fight with pipe and hose to connect (passages side is easy than driver side because of steer pipe line is way) I found it best first connect bottom then to high ram-air.

I'll happy gave 5 star, cuz quality and how is looking kit is top shelf, but..Intercooler kit came with red tubes, not grey like on pictures, not big deal, but I paid 1200 buks.. so -1 starKit came without manual and without 2 clamps for hot side turbo (-1 star)I spend extra $70 on clamps (-1 star more)Amazon doesn't give me any refund for that missing parts ( and -1 star)

When I first looked at the shipped box it was full of grease and it also had some oil stains. I then opened the package and found a hole bunch of used original Powerstroke 6.0 parts. Someone even took the time to paint the original intake elbow to red to try to imitate the Banks high flow intake (What a joke). I lifted the protective cardboard off the intercooler and found a used Powerstroke 6.0 intercooler, Someone totally ripped off all the Banks parts. I contacted Amazon that same day and they immediately took care of the problem.. They shipped a new order and had the faulty kit picked up.. Totally happy with their customer service. I received the new order and found all the items as specified per Banks.. Installed everything in the kit and I totally love.. Thanks Amazon and I hopefully you guys find that Magician..
