Q: How come wired headphones need a battery to work?

This circuitry is put in place in case some people, some seniors or hard of hearing ones for example, need enhanced volume from their headphones. Please be noted that a USB charging cable is included for charging the headphones. Can plug the USB cable to any compatible adapter or PC for recharging. Hello, such being the case, you may have to purchase a digital to analogue audio converter if you want to use any wired headphones for TV watching, as wired headphones on the market do not have optical port. However, if you use any sound box and can find any audio out headphone jack, this wired headset can also be connected to that port. Or as an alternative, you may simply purchase wireless headphones for TV watching that supports digital optical connection.

Also, this model comes with an RCA conversion cable that supports RCA connections, and you can also try connecting the headphones to the TV's RCA audio output port (the red and white ports marked "AUDIO OUT" are the correct RCA audio output).
