Do your research. If you have a 390Mhz Liftmaster Opener, this works.
My garage door opener was built in 1998 and still works beautifully. Sadly, the remote for it broke, so I gave this one a shot. It works beautifully.Programming:This is the most important part of this device. Carefully read the instructions on your garage door opener. As another reviewer shared, this one works with 390Mhz openers, which apparently have an "orange" programming button. The instructions are simple enough, depress the button on the opener and then the programming button on your garage door. Release them both when the garage door light flashes. This is where I had a 60 second struggle. When I read that, I thought they were talking about the overhead light. They're not. There's a small LED inside my garage door casing, just to the right of the orange button. I didn't see it at first because it's recessed and difficult to notice. My finger was hiding it when I pressed the button the first time. When I switched hands to try programming it again, I noticed the tiny LED inside the garage opener (again, next to the orange switch). It flashed almost immediately upon actuating both buttons (remote button and programming button). It literally took 5 seconds to program once I located the LED.ShippingThis comes in a small retail looking box with instructions, tucked neatly in a bubble pack envelope. I found it in my mailbox about 5 days after I placed my order. This unit was shipped the same day I place my Amazon order, and came directly from the manufacturer. The device comes with a battery and a belt clip. The clip can be used to open the case by fitting it into the coin-slot on the side of the case (placed there to make it easy to open and replace the battery).SummaryIt works well, and was easy to program. Couldn't be happier and the price was amazing. Make sure you research your opener before you buy!peace.dom

Works, good value, but be careful how you program it
I have a Sears Craftsman Garage door opener with a red learn button. When I got my Liftmaster 971M remote, I read the directions enclosed with the remote. When I went to program the remote, the directions on the GDO motor seemed the same, so I followed them. It was hard to hold the paper directions and the remote while I was at the top of a ladder. After following the directions of the GDO, the Liftmaster Remote didn't work. So I asked for a refund via Amazon.Later that night, I discovered that none of our other remotes nor the keyless entry worked. : (I tried to program one of my current remotes, and finally got it to work. Hurray. However when I tried to program a second remote, the first quit working. So I only could program one remote at a time. : (I did some research on the Internet and found this solution:Don't press and hold the Learn button. That erases the code. (Reminder, my Learn button is red.)Do:Gather together your remotes so you can program them all within a couple of minutes.Climb up the ladder carefully, since your hands are full.Press the Learn button and quickly let it go.Press the Send button on the first remote. This should program it (the opener light should click on)Press the Send button on the next remote. Etc.Quickly come down the ladder and rush over to the keypad for your keyless entry and press in a code. Now, everything should work.A day or so later, I got an email from 365garagedoorparts that said to try pressing the Learn button BRIEFLY. This was in the original instructions.DUH!! If I had read the instructions included with the opener, I could have saved myself a lot of grief.Garage door opener technology is kind of complicated, and the steps to follow have to be just right.I thought about calling a garage door company to come out to help, but I think their solution would have been to sell me all new remotes, and probably a new GDO, too.So, I'm happy with the remote, and happy with the company for their quick response to my email through Amazon.

Awesome!
This remote is awesome!! It literally took about 5 minutes to program & it works like a charm. This includes getting & setting up the ladder. My garage door opener is from 2004 & no issue at all! I've only had 2 remotes for my garage for years, but now that my daughter has a Jeep, she's had to use the outside wall opener. Not really a big deal, but it's been cold so I wanted her to have it easier. I read lots of reviews & took the advice of different people. I didn't follow the package instructions, but my opener's instructions. I also RESET my 2 older ones at the same time as some stated that only the new one worked after programming just the new one. (Problem solved) I just pushed the red button on my door opener for about 3 seconds, had all 3 remotes in hand, then pushed the remote, waited for the door opener light to flash (almost immediately) & continued the same for each. Only $20!! Great product, no customer service needed!!! Highly recommend!!!

Good Product With One Flaw
I've bought Liftmaster garage door opener remotes before. They are excellent quality. Only problem with this one was it contained a dead or very weak battery. After trying to program it a dozen or more times, I installed a new battery. The 2032 battery is a size I always have a couple of spares on hand because I have a variety of devices that use them. Then it programmed perfectly on the first try. That's why I'm giving it a 4 rating instead of a 5. Been using it for several weeks now with zero problems.

Works!
I needed a third remote and, for the price difference, decided to go with OEM. I programmed it in seconds, it works as it should, and has that noticeable Liftmaster quality.
